Post by fmunoz »

A couple of missing frames.
Showing 200 to 400 ms each will be ok.

Very nice, i especially like the way it's different from all the other death animations as it's nice to have some variety.

I like it because the spectre vanish (it's a ghost) but (I don't want you to think i'm complaining) are the head and the sword stick?

I think it looks great. Just make it so the head and sword arent touching in the last frame.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

IMO the sword should evaporate along with the body. From the unit description, they "use their powers to summon a spectral sword", which implies that the sword will cease to exist when the spectre is killed. The skull falling is a nice touch though, that highlights the summoned/reanimated nature of the undead in general.

edit: the skull should, however, lie on its side in the last frame.

Hmm - I may take these "dying ghost" animations under my wing - especially as I still have a number of extra things I was planning on doing for those fellows.

My animations would be kinda long (6 frames or so), but might give them the pizzazz they need.

Francisco's death animations can be good, but it seems to me that they only really are so when he really tries - when he makes a full four frames, they look great.

My advice to him - take on the really difficult ones, the ones that other people can't, like horses dying. And then, make those individual ones as good as can be done - other people can clone off of his work, then - Darth Fool, for example, could use his existing elvish archer death animations to clone out some of the other elvish archer units.

Well, until Jetryl gets around to making really cool death animations, I have committed these with a few extra frames to smooth out the death sequence. As for the elvish archer line, I'm looking into it.

I prefer fmunoz's death animation
