Sergeant north facing sprite

Post by Lordlewis »

Since there is a spearman facing north sprite, so I made a sergeant facing north sprite. There is a crossbow variation as well (since the sergeant has a crossbow).

Split from here, since that is for campaign units, not general mainline units.

Note: he should be holding the crossbow, just like in sergeant-crossbow.png.

I think this is supposed to be a standing frame. If that's the case, the crossbow is fine where it is. In my opinion, his armor should have a back plate so there is more silver on the top half. That would make the colors match the front-facing sergeant more, making it more recognizable. Also, that plume should be sticking up more. The angle is different, but not that much, and the plume is one of the most important features of the sergeant.

That said, the sprite is not bad.

Thanks for the opinions, I'll change it soon.
Edit: added back plate piece and holding crossbow sprites

Yeah, the crossbow should still be on his back in the sword-holding standing frame. And then there should be a separate crossbow-holding standing frame for use in crossbow animations.

I made the plume bigger and the legs spread a little more (like the actual sergeant).
