An usrukhar- Delfadors memoirs

Post by JustinOperable »

hey all, been a while since I contributed, but I was playing through wesnoth again recently and felt embarrassed at how bad my tomb guardian portrait was. I'm quite a but more experienced now so I whipped this out last night. Firefly we can exchange them. Thanks.

Seeing it on a different screen I see some pixel detritus, so don't commit this one but give me any critiques before I do.

Well It's been some time since I've been through any mainline campaign so I'm not a 100% clear on what those tomb guardians are exactly, but shouldn't the portrait show a bit of shoulder or torso o0r whatever? Looks pretty cool otherwise, though :)

i wonder if the surface should show a few scars or cracks or pits to indicate aging and match the cracked neckline. otherwise it looks a most wondrous powerful and ancient entity

That looks really good- the only nitpick I have is that the white line across the nose is too uniform, breaking the 3D structure of it in a way- it's distracting to me. Also the far eye could be whiter.

there is something about the secondary highlight arch at the back of the head.
maybe there is too much of it, or it is too smooth, or something else, maybe something about saturation, i don't know.
is the material semi-transparent?

the trouble is that it makes the side of the head look hollow.
took some time to notice it, so maybe it is a nitpick.

Hm...I agree with homunculus. It might look more natural if the highlight line didn't transition so suddenly from light to dark.
