Also, I've begun converting the palette from a colder indigo-dark to a warmer purple-dark. Let's have a vote as for which one is the best color palette, shall we? Alternative recolors are welcome too.

My personal favorite is spoilered to prevent unintentional bias; please only open it after you've made a rational decision on your own part.

Hum..... :hmm: 3 has a nice bony look, but 4 has the nice yellowy color, which also fits nicely. So either 3 or 4, slightly more inclined to 4.

I like both schemes, and thought having both warm and cool tones together could work, so I cut out 4 and put it over 3. First image is multiply set at 55%, flattened, and some curve tweaking. Second is at 100% overlay.

I would vote for the first of Crow_T's edits, though it seems to have a little too much purple. :hmm:

The images seem a bit blurry- I can't really quantify how well the combined palettes work that way. Could you try re-uploading the overlays?

Sure, no problem- I took a bit more care in lining the layers up this time :)
Edit funny how it changed them a bit though! Can you import a pallette from an image in the program you are using?
edit2: here is a closer one to the original

It's a bit less blurry but the image is still compressed to a smaller size so that I can't see each individual pixel. Here's a comparison image.

@Zero is that #4 at the top? Or a bigger version of Crow_T's edits?

It's #4, which i think I'm starting to warm up to over the other three. The warm palette was definitely an improvement.

Seeing it next to the two Crow_T edits, I would definitely say #4.

Maybe if you could add a few more white-ish higlights. It makes it look less dull.

I like both of 1# and 4#. Tought 1# is more metallish looking so I guess 4# is better for bone dragon. Really cool work.
(Off-topic:Metal dragon could look cool aswell)

Great work, Zero! :)

Lurking, non-artist warning:
What is given as numbers one to three is what I see on the “internet”, while the depicted number four is what I see in nature. (Former biology student thinking.)
Again, numbers one to three looks like early Nintendo games while number four looks like later SNES games. (RPG enjoyer thinking.)
Yet, whatever you choose will probably work really well in-game. (Realist thinking.)
