The blocking is looking good. :D Still I would want to express something. Note that it shouldn't influence you, only I'm curious about why you choosed that way to the death animation.

While useful on water surfaces (were this critter will be mostly seen since I heard its confined to water terrain due to movetype) Would it look curious on "water castle tyles"? it could look weird it submerging on earth (tought I don't envision the unit ever going into earth). The same way it looked curious the Sea Snake (the big one) that also died submerging.

anyhow, seeing the mighty creature go down gives me a sad feeling "all that destruction that it could have caused and that now it can't..." :P

Because it suits a water death for the other terrain types.

Heck it's great these units have animations. The majority of mainline units don't, plus I doubt it's used in many scenarios that have underwater keeps involved.

Brilliant work Mefisto :)

Not submerging but rotting rapidly. I considered briefly explosion of maggots but it would be probably too disgusting. I also considered making the flesh falling out of skeleton but I was afraid that everybody and his dog would jump on me shouting that molluscs have no bones ;) (well, besides so called "os sepiae").

Still I'm tempted to make undead Cuttlebone :)

Death animation. If nobody objects I'm going to attach whole set of frames.

Edit: I improved shadows in all frames and made animation of whole set: standing, melee attack, poison attack, defense, death. Whole finished set is in rar attachment.

I consider cuttlefish finished.

Feel free - I'll reserve judgement on the death until i can see it in-game though - I'm really not sure about it.

I noticed that it has been mentioned a couple times in this thread that the cuttlefish cannot move onto land. I just want to state that this is not true- it can move on land, it's just that all land costs it at least 4mp, and it has horrible defense so it would rarely happen.
Sorry for nitpicking since I know this is kind of trivial... :)

Quick question, is it supposed to be disintegrating or sinking into the water? Originally I thought it was sinking but now it loses the red/white color of it's skin. It almost looks like the old drake death animations.

NB: we do plan to redo the drake death anims in much the same way eventually. Very eventually...

My last post contains animations and the post just before (double post) contains the answer for this question.

<3 how it appears to lose control of it's color changing ability upon death.

The idea came from Dead Water campaign where you have a cuttlefish monster joining your side after defeating its previous owner. And team coloured cuttlefish would change their colours depending on which side it belongs to :)

OK. End of joking.
