Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
The upper ends do not give me a cave like impression. Maybe fade the poles out somehow?
Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
What Wussel said. For the other cave walls everything black is supposed to be the removed parts so you can see through. Here I have the impression the props are put next to it because the upper ends are above this imaginary black plane.
Also the wood is too bright imho. Maybe make it more like rails and bridges?
The horizontal prop in the *concave-tr.png is sort of floating, especially in the 1st variation. It is visible to the left of the mouse cursor in the image you posted.
Finally there are brown pixels in the black parts, see arrows in the image below. Mainline cave walls (except Natural Cave Wall - Xu) have them too. Here is the code I used (your terrain is Xum):

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
OK. There are some details to fix, but I blacked-out the top rims and darkened the wood.

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
I think color of the wooden beams is now spot on.
Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
It looks amazing now
Creator of Shadows of Deception (for 1.12) and co-creator of the Era of Chaos (for 1.12/1.13).

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
Thanks. I've cleaned it up a bit, I think these will work.

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
I already said the earlier version was very good, so I guess this is very, very good? Looks good to go in to me.
Looks like there still remains some lighter areas on the insides, but if those just need a bit of further brushing with black, I can do that when adding them.

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
They're in and looking wonderful.
They still warrant slightly modified versions for chasm transitions, but that ought to be a simple task.

Would this work? It's just two images.zookeeper wrote:They still warrant slightly modified versions for chasm transitions, but that ought to be a simple task.

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
Pretty well, yes. Maybe the left and right convex tiles as well, since there's a few bits of stone sort of sticking out?doofus-01 wrote:Would this work?

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
These problems inside the black parts look like inheritate from the earthy cave walls. Maybe clean them up too?
Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
No need, I've already taken care of those.Wussel wrote:These problems inside the black parts look like inheritate from the earthy cave walls. Maybe clean them up too?

Whoops, yeah. Here are those two.zookeeper wrote:Maybe the left and right convex tiles as well, since there's a few bits of stone sort of sticking out?

Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
Done. Also cleaned up a few glitches I had overlooked earlier.
Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
I spent a little time on the ruined sand-castles. If this looks like an improvement, the TGZ can just be unpacked in
images/terrain/castle/sand
and the only WML change needed is to use NEW:BASE macro for the castle floor and KEEP_BASE_RANDOM for the keep floor.- Attachments
