Re: Outlaws! New: Footpad
Kitty, it never ceases to amaze me how you manage to achieve unique character in the bodies and faces of your units, and the way you accentuate that character through details of the costume. Great stuff.
Any thoughts on what your next piece will be?

Re: Outlaws! New: Footpad
I know you're trying to make his skin look pale and unhealthy, but I think you overdid it just a tad. He looks sort of like a zombie or necromancer based on his skin. (The female footpad looks far healthier... I love her portrait, BTW).
Also, those red marks on his face are probably supposed to be fresh cuts, but they look a bit like acne, and that makes his face a little too ugly for my preference of a default portrait, IMHO.
Having said that, it's still very nice art and if you disagree with me then that is fine as well. Thanks again for all the nice portrait work.

Re: Outlaws! New: Footpad
He looks great to me, but his hands seem small. Your faces rock.
Re: Outlaws! New: Footpad
And the next one: the female Outlaw/Fugitive. Only lines and flats for now - I have got two questions: I'm not sure about the size of the mace and couldn't find a good reference: it is too big? And secondly, the sprite wears trousers but the portrait looked stupid when I gave her trousers thus I made her wear a skirt - do you think that's an acceptable departure from the sprite or too much?
Sangel: thanks and since I was accepted for WSAS my list for the next months is pretty much settled: link
Sapient: That's strange, the male foodpad's skincolour and the female's one are identical (I always colourpick those colours if I do the male and female variants of one unit to make them as much alike as possible). I don't understand why you see his as zombie-like and her's as healthy. Sorry.
Gadzooks: I'm sorry but I disagree about the handsize - a flat hand is approximately as long as 2/3 of the face or a little bit more, if you imagine his hands outstreched they are rather on the bigger end of that rule.

Re: Outlaws! New: female Outlaw/Fugitive
Looks fine to me. I take it this covers the Outlaw and the Fugitive together?
I think the skirt is perfectly acceptable.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply - and yes i'll cover Outlaw and Fugitive as one portrait, the sprites are very similar, nearly only colour variants apart from the extra-pauldrons the Fugitive features.

Re: Outlaws! New: female Outlaw/Fugitive
I love the club, and all the detail in the clothing. The club seems like it might be slightly too thick to wield effectively for her overall build, and particularly for the size of her hands. If nothing else, think of how much a baseball bat tapers--I feel like currently, the weapon would be really hard for her to have a good grip on. I could be wrong, as the way she's holding it makes it a bit difficult to tell.

Update on the outlaw lady...
A:Red: Damn, I read your comment not till I had finished shading. Meh, I'll see if it bothers me enough to change it.

Re: Outlaws! New: female Outlaw/Fugitive
The only slight issue that i can see, beyond what A-red mentioned, is that the fur which shows on her rear shoulder looks a little out-of-place without an outline round it. otherwise, she looks great

Re: Outlaws! New: female Outlaw/Fugitive
I think the club looks too much painted on. This means, it seems to have no weight on the shoulder. The lenght is okay for me. Would it be possible to add some wrinkles in her cape? Btw. your art is absolutely awesome, kitty!
Re: Outlaws! New: female Outlaw/Fugitive
Some minimal changes: thinned down the club on A-Red's suggestion, outlined the fur as tsi proposed and boosted up the mace's shadow to get rid of vonhalenbach's problem. And yes, it would be possible to add more wrinkles to the cape but I see no reason to do so
If nobody spots serious flaws I consider her finished now.

This is perfect enough. My critic was only a very minor issue, which is now fixed with the shadows. You are absolutely right, not to overdo every little detail, because of the work ahead of you. Your art is now so good, that you can almost say the people in the frame are alive.

Re: Outlaws! New: female Outlaw/Fugitive
Sorry to be a bother, but it appears to me that the male footpad's right arm is flat. The rest looks good to me though.
