Pixelmind, what is the thick white effect around the borders of the shadow?

What Turuk just said + yes, you should imo draw the shadow as for the gryphon, it's to say with the wings too... (even if i can't help you about how to do it, hope someone better than me cross along...)

Really nice so far!!

edit: the white thing is not in your zip file, so maybe it's the forum....

Animated gifs doesn't have transparency, the white probably is from transparency effect on the shadow ;)

The dragon looks great. Does it has a defense animation?

Oh, that must be why we can see the forum color behind then... *whistling*
edit: unless there's a difference between full and medium transparencies, and in this case i apologize for my unnecessary comment.
edit2: apologizes, and thanks for the tip :geek:

Vendana is right, that white ring is caused by the missing transparency.
Gifs dont have alpha channels like pngs. You can only mask pixels, but not make them like 50% transparent.

I'm currently working on the die animation, but defence will follow soon.

I've held off on commenting because, really, most of what I have to say is just addition to the chorus of "oh, wow- that's awesome." One thing that does bug me a bit is how the dragon's head come's down at the top of it's rise- it looks like it goes nearly vertical, which looks a little goofy to me. While I agree that it should sink some to fit the motion, the turning makes it look like the dragon has difficulty holding its head up and staying on-target.

anyway, YMMV, and it really is an awesome job.

Really well done; it animation movement looks cool and smooth, and the shape of his body works too. But I think his skin could use more texture; right now it looks really smooth, almost like plastic. It would be cool if it looks like scales or something.

Yes, thought about that but I don't know if multihex units are properly supported so I decided to make a standart size unit.
If you consider that a entire village is also represented by an 72x72 tile .. maybe size doesn't matter :P
( Even though bigger units would be nice for adding some details )
Multihex units are supported in 1.5.x.

And the terrain<->sprites scale does not matter, but the sprites<->sprites scale does. That's the whole idea behind the old units' size changes.

Just so we're clear, this means units that extend beyond the borders of their hex are allowed, not that units that fully take up two hexes (and actually occupy two hexes on the game board) are allowed, right?

I adjusted the scale of the dragon so it fits to the other units.
Will this size work or is it to huge ?

It'd probably be best though if his feet at least were all within the hex... would something halfway between the huge version and the original be possible?

Also, IIRC, while parts of his body can extend beyond the hex he's in, they cannot extend beyond the six surrounding hexes... even for animations, unless I'm mistaken.
