Re: Northerners flag
Why should they waste a good helm on a flag? Surely they'd rather use the helm of someone they slew?thespaceinvader wrote:An idea strikes - the orcs' helms are fairly distinctive, particularly the grunt line. Why not top the flag staff with one of those?
Re: Northerners flag
I liked the horns that Syntax_Error proposed but i think the horns should be pointing down (easier to fit in the hex, without having to move the flagpole then).
So her is quick picture to try the concept, should i work with something like this?
C&C and edits are welcome.

Re: Northerners flag
imho very nice.
I don't see any problems with an elf-woman hitting somebody with a mace...
Re: Northerners flag
I think the flagpole is done.
Still not sure how the flag is gonna look, maybe just rectangle that is a little torn or perhaps has two or three "points"
Well no rush will probably figure something out this weekend, fell free to suggest things.

Re: Northerners flag
Hey there, nice to see the server is back online.
I just dropped by to mention that i have bought an old house, and pretty much all of my spare time goes to that.
So if anyone wants to continue with this or start from scratch with a northeners flag, that would be great.
If this is finished then its just a rebels flag that is needed, and then maybe there will be a complete set of flags in 1,6.
Which would be cool.

Re: Northerners flag
It has been a long long time since i have done anything, but i had some spare time and decided to pick up this old project.
If this is good, i will probably do a animation this weekend.
C&C anyone?

Re: Northerners flag
I think it looks good but maybe have the horns pointed upwards so its easier to tell what they are? I cant really tell that they are horns at first. just my opinion.
every time my cat meows, something dies.
Re: Northerners flag
@fuzz579
I have tried that, but i think it looks best if the flagpole has the same position as all the other flagpoles, and a flag has to fit inside the hex.
Its a tight fit as you can see.
With horns pointing upwards tha flagpole would have to be VERY short.
Edith: Oh and buy the way edits are welcome as always

Hi,
in may 2008 you wrote:
Keeping the horn point down and trying adding some spear head at the top of the flagpole?
"Hey you! Goblin! Give me your spear, we just conquered some village..."
Well, my grunt imitation is poor, but maybe trying something like that wouldn't take much time and improve the battle aspect you already gave to it with the horns and the tears...
Just an idea, this is already great like this...
Good luck, bye

That is possible, is it better this way?

Re: Northerners flag
I'd suggest a tad more light for the horns and a colour closer to bone : while not wrong, their current tone is similar to the grey of the spear and it's hard to tell what they are when next to a village.

Re: Northerners flag
Hey,
That's nice ,
Talking about the horns, they would need more shadows on the left (left of the image) part, no?
Maybe also on the bottom... to match village main shadow?
Just asking.
Well really nice overall! Good luck!
