Vampire Bat portrait

Post by Girgistian »

Hmm... Possibly starting a too many projects at the same time. No matter.
I'm not sure if people would like it to look realistic or monstrous, so I tried both approaches.

I think we can use both.
The uglibat could be used for the lvl0 and the scaribat for the lvl1.

Those legs look way too long and shaped wrong. Otherwise great.

Ah, but these are Wesnothian bats, not terran ones. They're much bigger than Terran bats, for starters...

The legs in the sprite seem to be part of the wings, as with (some) real bats, however.

I definitely vote for uglibat, too. I;d like to see it inked, whatever the leg situation...

They are simply sublime! However they are a bit big...

Uglibat it is then! I'll finish the skeleton warrior before shading this one. might be tonight, even, since I'm feeling kind of energetic today. I checked the legs of a real vampire bat and they seemed separate from the wings, but I can try to attach them to the wings if it's better that way.

Remember that Wesnoth bats are much much bigger, so they need all the wing area they can get to help them sustain flight.

Fine, I will. This project will freeze for a while, as will the skeleton warrior. If someone wants to give a shot with the shading, just go ahead and do it. You can also have the .psd version of it if you want the background and sketch layers separate.

I might take a shot at inks and colours on this, if you don't mind =)

I don't. You want the layered version?

Raurgh. It won't let me attach a .psd file. You'll have to manage with this one, sorry. But you really don't need to do anything but draw the outlines on it and you have a good base to colour it.
