Really nice undead. :D

The hands seems a bit too little and the axe looks odd. Perhaps a mistake about the perceptive.

Man, I was going to do a skeleton portrait! You beat me to it! :P
I must say though, it looks a lot better than my first sketch. I was going to work on it, but seeing as someone else is already doing it, I think I'll leave it.
Guidrion is right about the axe though, I don't think I've ever seen any creature, in game or life, weild an axe like that.
I like it overall though, keep it up!

There is only one word necessary to describe this:

Awesome...

Your abilities for sketching the undead is simply ethereal...

But the sharp edge of the axe should be facing the camera...

The hands are fine, but the axe does look a little odd.

Awesome job. :D

Nice sketch, though I'd suggest orienting the head of the axe differently. Foreshortening can play odd tricks on the eye, making an entirely accurate image seem weird and wrong. It'd be easiest to avoid the problem by having the axe point "down" on the canvas instead of "into" the canvas.

You could still give a shot for the skeleton archer.

So, I did some fixing with the head, made the teeth slightly smaller, had the hand bones separate more, tampered with the right arm and changed the axe pointing down instead of towards. I'll start shading it by the end of the day unless there's something more wrong with it.

His right hand is wrong anatomically. You've treated each of the metacarpals (palm bones) and proximal phalanges (first bit of the fingers) as one long bone, and the carpals appear to be fused with the radius and ulna (forearm bones).

The shape of the humerus could stand tweaking, too.

See here for a good overview of the hand bones or here for an overview of the arm.

Yes, I may have been studying anatomy recently. :)

Thanks for the comments, and to irrevenant for pointing that out. It has now been fixed, I hope. The bones are going to be a bit larger than it appears, though, to make the hand look a bit bigger than it is now. I just edited the picture above to save space.

:lol2: That's a bit dangerous; that might lead you to nitpick regarding the cranial sutures, olecranon, ilium and (left) tibia.

Do disregard my post though Girgistian; I think being too anatomically correct (specifically the bones in this case) may drive you nuts. :P Do follow Irrevenant's advice though, as that was quite obvious.

I totally agree that those minor tweaks probably aren't necessary if you don't want to do them. OTOH, it's a great opportunity to get a better grasp of human anatomy if that's something that interests you.

It is good to fix if he has the time; I'm just worried that Girgistian might be overcommitting with too much work. Being anatomically correct looks intuitively better.
