Xanthos looks kinda like an old black woman, and not a huge amount like an evil necromancer. A very nicely drawn old black woman, though =D

The elvish girl has potential IMHO - with development she could make a decent Druid. But you'd need to improve the arms - the staff arm is bent at a very awkward angle - the upper arm is a little too long, and the hand should be coming basically straight out of the screen towards camera. The other hand looks a little awkward, but i can't work out why.

It's a good start =)

Is it just me or her hips are excessively protuberant... oh well, it might be because I'm not really used to the females' anatomy. >.>

You are probably outdated:

The current L1 -> L2 -> L3 darkies line sprites, as of BfW 1.3.11.

Still looks fairly female o_O xanthos is a guy IIRC. But definitely more necromacer-like.

If you make him dark enough, that could easily work. I would encourage you to work on your portrait of the female dark sorceress as well, as that could definitally find some use.

Doesn't look bad. Would be interesting to see how it looks colored.

Very very much better, and fit the current sprites perfectly. :D

Although... um, the male sprite isn't bald. But it's not necessarily a problem.
