3rd Level Undead Archer

Post by Sangel »

OK, I've been working on this for a little while, and it's reached a standard where I'm happy to present it for comments. This is the 3rd level Skeleton Archer / Bone Shooter, which I'm using the working title "Soul Shooter" for.

At the moment, I'm looking for comments on stance, position, flaws and details. Once that's done, I might put together some different colour variations, to see what looks best.

It looks too practical, like a skilled human archer not an undead. Otherwise, it's pretty good.
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

I think it looks really cool -- nice and sinister, and it has alot of style. You really wouldn't want this guy hunting you.

Except that he is dressed in bright red, he'd be real easy to pick out, except on mars...

Good work, maybe it need some edit in its right arm.
Darth Fool, following you reasoning, level 2 is dressed in pink so it will be be real easy to pick out, except on... a gay pride parade.

Whoa. Attached something like that.

Sangel that's a cool unit. For the original, the hair/cloak looks like it could use higher highs in the shading. I agree that right arm could be raised a pixel, and more shading on towards the outer edge of the cross-straps. With the shading on the brown top stuff as is, it's hard to tell if it's a cloak or long hair, so I went ahead and cloak-ed in the middle of some reshading. Also changed color, or it would've looked red-riding-hood-ish with the extended cloak.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. You wouldn't want to run into that in the middle of the night.

The grey and black archer does look a lot scarier and undead. However it is true that with so many dark colors you lose some of the detail, all the dark greys and blacks sort of blends together. And pink is a color you don't normally see in undead, which makes it a bit more unique.

Maybe go with a red shirt and boots and the black cloak? It's not so muddy, but it's still dark-toned and not Little Red Riding Hood.

Or go with the black, but use red for highlights...

use blood-red [1] clothes, black cloak. have the cloak be a bit longer, IMHO.

Although pink is different than everything else, that is not a good thing. I think it would be good if the Boneshooter was changed too, so it didn't look so... wierd.

[1]: Dark red, but Blood Red sounds cooler. 8)

Actually, I like the bone-shooter. I just don't think the upgrade should be all red!
