New Wose WC.

Post by Naeddyr »

I earlier made a thread in which I had an idea for a wose unit, and it had an edit I made from the new wose without the leaves. Anyhow, someone suggested I turn it into the new soulless Wose, but when I earlier today got inspiration, I hadn't that file at hand. So here's an attempt for a soulless wose with leaves - it's a simple recoloration, with the classical barkless gray for the wood, and autumn colours for the leaves.

I was thinking of maybe turning the fruits rotten or something to the effect - but I have no idea how to do that.

Looks pretty good to me even if its only a simple recoloration! :)

I would think the old one with the bark colour of the new one would be awesome...

Well, from the looks of it I would say you tweaked a few pixels beyond just a simple recoloration. FYI simple recolorations should not be done, as the development version has methods (syntax not quite finalized, but fully funcional) of recoloring in game any artwork. Oddly, I had considered using the wose as an example, but it had way too many different shades of green to do quickly. I may see if I can't use your image as an example of how to emulate the same effect with in game WML.

I do prefer the old one to the new one, although the eye sockets on the old one are a little too big in my mind. You might try the coloring on the new one on the old graphic.

When I saw Zhukov's post, I started on a version without the leaves.
I think it succeeded surprisingly well this time!

On a side-note: A recoloring of the wose to what I did in the first post would be impossible, mainly because the foliage and the bark actually share many dark colours - I had to separate them into two selections>layers and apply hue and colour changes.

The mouth on this leafless wose was a happy accident - I just tried to figure out how to not make it look like a butt (yes, for a while it did look like a butt), and what was supposed to be jaw became a maw instead.

EDIT:

A couple of edits - a few stray pixels hanging in the air near the mouth etc.

EDIT:

And here's a new version with a slightly less gigantic mouth.

I prefer 2 to 3. The lips on the new one are a little too well defined. Also, you have lost his team coloring!

How about this? A bit more noise added to make the lips less distinct.

EDIT:

Changed the arm's position a bit.

EDIT:

Slimmed the neck.

Looks good, only the branches at the left top side look odd, like there's a vertical white line.

Fewer branches, maybe? This actually looks almost like ragged hair.
