Those are good enough, and of an appropriate license, that I'll probably include all of them in wesnoth, (probably after a couple minor edits on a few of them)

There's something a little odd about the edging, almost like some kind of odd sharpening filter, but that's virtually my only complaint.

You've done some really admirable work on the metal-rendering there. :D

I don't know if this is any good, but I made a book.

Reminds me of a tattered, paper back version of a 150year old book I have lieing around somewhere...
In all seriousness, people would care more for books than letting them get all tattered like that.

But you said...

They didn't care much about that particular book, I guess. :P

Okay, in all seriousness, I know you're trying to achieve a certain perspective, but I think the difference in width from the top to the bottom should be more subtle, because right now the book looks rather misshapen.

Well, it was meant to be a really old book.
But... is this better?

At first glance it looks like a butterfly XD. I think the shadows are way to dark.
I'm finally admitting that this will be a very long (if not permanent) Wesbreak. Thank y'all for the great times, and may Wesnoth rise to become one of the most popular games on the planet.

When he said the shadows are to dark, I don't think he was meaning the make to whole thing lighter. Don't bother changing brightness or contrast if your editing the whole image, cus then you change the border as well as the image.
The grey colour you has before was (in my opinion) good.

I think it is too neat, too smooth. As a computer image that is unrealistic.
I also have trouble with that and I can not really say how to fix the problem, sorry.

This is very well done overall, but there are a few things that I -as an amateur attack icon artist- can see that would conflict with the standards set for Wesnoth attack icons. Get rid of the outlines, for one. It makes the icon look to cartoonish, since nothing in real life has an outline. I'd also like to see the red glow more apparent on all three prongs at the head of the scepter, rather than just the one farthest back. And perhaps you could make the glow a bit less circular, but that's just my opinion. :)

It looks like a good base for a later edit. Right now the jewel doesn't seem to be internally lit.

Thank you for the suggestions. Is this an improvement?
