So, seems the worst is behind me. Now, I will wait for update for the German translation and then i will post the new release, numbered either 1.2.9a or 1.2.10 depending whether my artist will be able to finish new portrait on time.

As for the Orien-The Wiseman I hesitate. Making him loyal may tempt player to upgrade him as much as possible and then abandon when he'll be forced to choose 5 loyal units.

OTOH my Recall cost for loyal wiseman may be too high, and making him upgrade may be too much a nuissance for players, therefore rendering any added value nil.

Also, I toy with the idea to making him a hidden bonus in 02 Map (like adding an abandoned hut somewhere in the hills, and if player would check it, he would get Orien).

raider
6-3 berserk(offense only)-blade
7-3 blade (normal)
$20
This one can be applied. Not sure what would possibly happen.

Changelog for 1.2.10
* Updated French translation (from Pyrophorus)
* Updated German translation (from Michael Dragovic)
* Updated Majid portrait (rescaled from better resolution)
* new Hoyre portrait (by Łukasz Zaręba)

No other changes were applied as for now. In addition, I have changed the .cfg file for dependency (akladian music) but I hope I had not destroyed anything.

I don't know if I will add orien at all, and if i will add berserk ability for raiders.

Sadly, I have put wrong German translation file. It is corrected in version 1.2.10a, which is just uploading to the server.

I'm playing on Normal difficulty and had a pretty easy time of it until I reached Hired Swords.

The Akladians as a race are just really tough.

I gave myself 100 extra gold in debug and am now winning the scenario.

On normal, by that time you should have some 3rd level Akladian loyal units. Have you? In addition, make sure you do right recruiting decisions. Hired Swords is made to be hard, but winnable. In fact, I had a discussion with Axalara that it is too easy now...

I just started playing this, nice story and fun so far- one thing that is disturbing is that there are hit sounds even when the units miss. It seems easy enough to change this, here is the code from the loyal swordsman as an example:

Code: Select all

[if]
            hits=yes
            [frame]
                begin=-75
                end=75
                image="units/human-loyalists/swordsman-attack-2.png"
                sound={SOUND_LIST:SWORD_SWISH}
            [/frame]
        [/if]
        [else]
            hits=no
            [frame]
                begin=-75
                end=75
                image="units/human-loyalists/swordsman-attack-2.png"
                sound={SOUND_LIST:MISS}
            [/frame]

Ah yes. It's because of the problems with stats at one point - seems I have deleted all the soundlists by accidents in the process. I will fix that, but since I have not much time now, it won't be today.

In actuality, I have not yet tried the new version and tested its difficulty. But if I were to recommend some pratical stratgies, recall all your high level akaladians, get some naffats (rather important), and use jundis as cannon fodders might suffice. Don't waste money on the 9-2marksman suckers because enemy Akaladians would pleasantly absorb all these damage.

This scenerio is beatable on nightmare only when you recall lv3s, pay more attention on akaladians and fend off the trolls well by less numbers (frightening them off by standing better terrians, forcing them to attack you on worse ones like tundra). Rotate units and keep healing is important as well.

Report: 50% translation works complete. New semester begins, the process might be laregly decelerated in the next few months.

some questions: how would you suggest me to translate "gelding"? And the names of Akaladians, say Horye O Barnon. That "O" is making very little sense in translation, so I want to know the meanings of it.

a gelding is a young horse that has been gelded (castrated)
http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%96%B9%E9%A6%AC

Irish names such as O'Barnon mean "of the Barnon clan".
some translators transliterate the names (keeping the pronunciation) while others might translate the etymology (the genealogy and component meanings of the name). the Wesnoth TranslatorsGuide gives backgrounds on each of the campaign heros in order to help translators make up names that match the flavour of the character.
