Great Mages are very powerful when escorted by a very fast unit who can occupy villages near the enemy commander. In "Dwarven Doors" I've used a pair of Great Mages and a Gryphoon to wipe out both commanders to the west when a larger party including Delfador and Konrad went to the east. It was very easy to finish several turns before end.

Up to the Hasty Alliance, which depends on quite some luck, the levels are well-balanced. The Sceptre of Fire is impossible to finish here, because the high number of Troll Warriors finish off any of my units in one turn.

Ouch! Li'Sar with a tiny red HP bar, attacked by a Blood Bat and a few other units and all miss to hit her. Now *that* was luck!

Odly enoghf thats authentic though, anyways the point is not only can you win in 7/40 turns, it requires almost no skill to do so.

In a game like this, where advantages from one scenario carry over to the next, it's inevitable that on 'easy' level, some players who are playing difficulty levels below their skill will dominate the scenario.

But...not all players will acquire a Great Mage, or even an Arch Mage. I have talked to players like this.

Kamahawk: now, we all know that this scenario is not a problem for you, you have already proven that it is rathe ridiculosuly easy for skilled player, probably also too easy even for newbie.

I believe it may be a hard task to balance this scenario on "easy" since little players tend to complain about things being too easy. But you have to be aware, that you are more skilled then some players, easy mode must be simply not designed for you. I believe that this scenario may need some tweaking, if it is so easily beatable with no recruitment. But really, proceed to normal mode, will make you far less frustrated :] And keep giving feedback and suggestions, without that no proper balancing would be possible.

I recommend further discussion on this topic to be continued in Scenario and Campaign development, on a thread "Heir to Throne in Easy mode". Ziberpunk is now in charge of balancing it.
