Strange legacy is unusual campaing with really great list of skills weapons... And missions of course! I really like the plot! :) But I have the same problem.

Yes I enjoyed it too, feels like a new game almost, rly amazing.

thank you for your nice words. I'm not quite sure if can make the next update this year (due to my new game Goddesfall, which needs to be overworked :cry:), but I can help you with your quest problem. The "Sandcave" is a little bit misguiding. You will not find the artifact there, but you can find it here:

About the bug - thank you for reporting it. The enemies within the Sandcave (and of all Randomdungeons) are placed randomly. So it could be that either one of the randomly spawned bosses (events) or one of the monsters in the Sandcave itself are not called properly. As I've carefully tested the Sandcave, you should be able to go to the dungeon once more. I will look into this hopefully this week and make a bugfix. Maybe the Jaume Mode will get a "redice dungeon staff" or something.

Nono, the hidden oasis was in an earlier quest about the amulet which had 3 pieces, I found it already.

Now we are looking for the last hidden artefact which is not in this oasis but in those random dungeons where u have to go with the wisp and it should be on the last dungeon level. But in the sandcave u cant reach it because its the only dungeon which is buged and you will never find the last part of the Deathscythe to finish the Story.

Or am I missing sth? :o

I know I was replying to Lordhunter, which should be solved (because he is looking for the amulet).

I've seen the problem, which is causing this and I could easily solve this. The lua messages appears because I've used old unit descriptions that were used in the version of 1.10. I've fixed the problem and replaced the unit names that have caused this. After that you should be able to find it:

Strange Legacy - 1.16.1 released

released 1.16.1 for version 1.12:

- Betatesters can now jump to the point in the story, before the Scythe is assembled
- placed monsters in the sandcave are now summoned correctly
- the option for buying the wisp has been repaired
- added a mission marker for the first tutorial
- changed wording and corrected typos

Yes the option for buying a wisp was confusing because it was an upgrade, u saw that too.

Since u helped me out so fast i feel obligated to write my thoughts about this upgrade.

My feedback: Strange legacy is a well rounded add on for wesnoth. It has some really creative changes to the game. Making your enemies stronger when u gain levels is a great idea because it makes it possible to really play other ways and avoid the grinding when it comes to just killing units to gain exp. which to me gets a bit boring after a while.

That leads to the point that u should always try to level up but u don’t have to force it. After the last fix with the dungeon in the desert I had no single game crash or bug in the whole story lane and I did a lot of other dungeons and sidemissions as well.

The following changes are just some additional thoughts which could be implied but are not really necessary and maybe not wanted for good reason. I never did programing so maybe they wont rly help:

1) Things of other upgrades could get implied (LotI)
- Equip other units with weapons too not only with armor
- Not able to change inventory after round 1 if not in base
- I rly love those unit upgrades in LotI but maybe they are to op, its also not rly necessary as u play mainly with John and maybe the 3 other main characters
2) After inventory changes it rly takes a little time, not bad but I wonder why it takes so long?
3) Flasks production at the oven did not work for me I could click on it and my cooking skill advanced but I didn’t receive flasks.

5) When u transform to another form, like to an angel you can go to your inventory and put it out and in again and attack for example with a bow and your melee weapon as well or u can put on a hat which rly looks strange on that angel. U can level up with that angel but these levels will be gone if u transfer back, I don’t know if that is wanted.
6) Some books u can use on your own character give experience which is very low if u reach a higher level. So u find a special place in an endgame dungeon get a book and receive like 20 exp. out of it when u need 4k experience to the next level. Maybe there is a way to adjust the experience u will receive according to your lvl.
7) There are books u can use on other units but not on your own unit, that should be explained somewhere or did I overread it?
8) I spend some time early game in this tavern close to the capital city. Maybe some funny things can happen there because I think a lot of players will spend time there at start to get some first gold to buy some equipment and consumables. Maybe some additional missions or events while working there (some drunken guests :twisted: leads to a fight) the possibility to deliver wine/elvenwine/beer to your own tavern or stuff like that). Or idk XD, events like “rats appear” and the tavern has to get closed for a short time, things like that XD. Because all the other options early game, like the fishfarm or the farm give you much less gold per time compared to just working in that tavern.
Another idea: The concept of the tavern could get changed, u will not get more gold because of upgrades of the tavern but because of the amount of guests in the tavern. And the amount of guests could go up when u do certain things like delivering wine and beer or do other missions for the tavern or even when a certain global event appears. I rly feel like the tavern can get a central point of the early game next to the story because its close to the capital city and your home and a the temple of light. But yea, most of these things will be hard to imply I guess and its just a personal taste.
9) Maybe in a future addon u can also produce silk and spices but at the same time its not really needed since u can easily make a lot of gold other ways to afford to buy that stuff.
10) Redwine and healingpotions and bluewine and manapotions and some other items have the same pictures
11) It would be super cool if u just could use a hotkey to use manapotion/healingpotion/antidode without going to your consumables every time or imply a faster option.
12) It sometimes shows wrong items at the markets, for example if I want to sell stone it shows me bows. I mean its not rly a problem because its written correctly next to the item but u could change that.
13) Even if trading skill is high (over 90) if I buy sth for like 1 000 000 gold it says thanks to my trading skill I saved 80 golds or sth. That should be higher I guess =).
14) If I drink a mana potion it says +5 mana when actually I get + 20 mana
15) Wtf is going on with music in wesnoth? I know it has to be small datas but rly the music selection is to short and is really boring after a while. There is so much good free? epic music out there. When I play dota this is what gets me hyped, why not put in some serious epic music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0e16QtzmpY)

I will now finish the story thx to the update :D but i dont rly have time to play a lot at the moment :( :( or be active in this forum. Bye guys keep up the good work :D

Thank you for your suggestions:

1. Might be good, at least one could use the weapon you've found
2. Changing inventory will remove all effect and imply new effects, check if you are wearing a set and get a set bonus, removing all overlays from you character, moving all overlays over it again. I've already had an idea to make that more efficient, but this solution is according to my wesnoth knowledge the best way to do it.
3. Got to check that.
4. Thanks, will check - but there many spots like this *super secret hint*
5. You shouldn't be able to even enter the inventory as a transformed being, will check that. Maybe my changes to the inventory has caused a problem.
6. Books give random rewards. Maybe they should give the experience reward based on the level. This could work.
7. Will add a description to the book, I always thought they had this. As you can not use them pretty much else, I didn't feel like explaing - except here when I implented them.
8. One idea that was proposed by Forestdragon was a duel. This will come! I was also thinking about the offer to hire a hero unit (merc), based on your charisma. However I think 20 random events is already pretty much for a single city. I mean there are more than 20 global events and hundred of random events (partially based on the map and when you are on a ship). It's most likely you haven't seen all of them. You have to play several times to get to this point. I've already thought about two small minor quests in this town but they never had priority.
9. I always thought about a quest that will allow the player to craft glass.
10. I already have tons of partially self-made pictures (or franks). It got a little bit out of hand, I have to say.
11. Hotkeys would be cool, but I don't know how to make them. In an earlier version you could right-click on your character and heal yourself.
12. Okay, I will look into this. As I will overwork the market
13. Got to look into that. As far as I know you trading skill is not percentage based, so it works well on low priced items.
14. Okay, I'm quite sure I have fixed this in a previous version. Ugh. Thanks will fix this.
15. Tsk tsk! You haven't downloaded Trader Sounds and the Epic Music which plays awesome music in this add-on? You should try it! And after that you must support Phyrnna on Patreon :lol:. (not really, I'm already doing this). Considering your epic music - one has to careful about that. You can not just use every music one likes and I have great music in my playlist. You could be sued, or worse Wesnoth could be sued. That's not something I would like to risk. I'm just using free music based on licence such as GPL/CC0. So you can't be sued or something. But I admit, I should add more different tracks and a randomized feature, to switch the starting song.

Hopefully you already found the vampires capital and hopefully you will retry to the game as an orcish warlock, nomad, goblin assassin or elvish necromancer (I'm not quite sure if I made the last one possible) in the RPG Mode. I put many resources into that hidden feature. As soon as I will publish "Infinite Fates" (hopefully in the next 10 years) we will see how people will like this.

I actually have no idea if this was already reported.
First of all it's a great campaign thanks.
I've (I think) found two bug;
The first one is related to gold, sometime in casino or when digging out a treasure there is an error message (doesn't crash the game but heh).
The second one more problematic is with the multi-shot crossbow found in the capital of the mainland. If i equip it and try to reload a save the game crash and corrupt the save.

edit:
another "bug" that i found is that killing your own mercenary when tracking orcs count. i.e i can kill 20 goblins to get 40000 gold ^^.
And when carrying weapon to a town in the north(don't know if it can happen elsewhere). If i get attacked while arriving in town and sell the weapon the gold obtained from the transaction and the weapons disappear after going into the fight

Thank you for playing and these bugreports. I will check and fix them. As I now have some time to code, I can add some new features on the way.

bug 1: treasure and casino - will check this.

Edit: so far I haven't seen any bug message or report. There used to be a problem in an older version for 1.10 and I'm not quite sure if it's working properly in 1.13.

bug 2: ok, thanks - it could be that the id of the weapon is broken. You can however load the savegame in a texteditor and search for Multishot Crossbow and delete the spaces or -. But I can easily fix this. Edit: Fixed.

bug 3: killed mercs count as kill-mission objectives: I assume this happens when your own mercs are killed and they have the specific race or type.
They only count the scalps, so its quite a funny bug. It's not a bug, it's a feature :P. Edit: I will leave it as it is.

bug 4: ok, the problem is that the raid is fired at the same time as entering the town. I'm not quite sure how to solve that.
Edit: still looking for a solution.

Once again i don't know if it's normal but the elves don't attack me when i go in the elven capital with a negative reputation (it works for any other race).
Also i need help to find the thief leader in the capital, i've found a thief in the skewer but he doesn't say anything except "you don't belong here".

Hm, not all races behave in the same way. Elves don't care for human morale (fame), they care if you are an enemy to their people. So if your reputation with the elves is lower than 0 they will attack you. So there is no grey zone for them. It especially fun when playing in the RPG mode as an orc, raiding the elvish capital.

By the way island faction doesn't care at all :D. I found that funny somehow. Saurians love it when you flee, while others disregard you when you try to bribe them, while others like you for doing so. When fighting you will even gain for example orc reputation.

You've found the leader of the chief, but you might need to reduce your fame. If your fame is however higher than 0, they will not talk or trade to you.

thanks for the answer.
about the elves i mean that my reputation with the elves is -100 (while my fame is about 10000) and that they still don't care. So i can go and buy their "secret" that they usually refuse to trade if the reputation is under 2000 (wich in fact help).
