The Warpworld-Vampire Campaign for version 1.8

Post by Vladcara »

I'm attempting to create a campaign involving the Vampires. Basically, this is set in the future of Wesnoth, where a bunch of Vampires have invaded the Great Continent through a series of magical 'Warpgates'. Now, however, the Wesnothians and their allies have put together a defence force and pushed the Vampires back. This means they have to retreat back to their homeworld-The Warpworld, where the impossible becomes possible. I've made a couple of maps and i'm experimenting with the first scenario. I was planning on modifying the Era of Myths Vampires and adding in some new units. Not one to 'start small', i want the campaign to be fairly long. If anyone has any tips/comments etc. I'd love to hear them. The unit graphics will be posted when I've got round to making them.

Thanks. :)

Umm . . . A little too weird and sci-fi to ever be canon, but since you're probably not aiming for that, an interesting idea.

Well, here are my first graphics. They are part of the same unit tree, as you can hopefully tell. Completely frankensteined, but there you go. Comments/tips for improvement welcome.
Thanks :)

I'm getting an 'Unknown Unit Type' error for the unit 'vampire count', but i don't know why. None of the fixes I've tried will work, and, as he's my leader, I can't carry on without him. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Use [unit_type], not [unit].

Also you have a lot of messed up image paths like "~The_Warpworld/images/units/vampires/fledgeling.png". Just look at how other add-ons reference their custom images and use those as an example.

Thanks for that zookeeper. However, for some reason it still won't work. Does anyone know why? Also, what exactly needs changing on those image paths? :?

If you attach a single directory that I can just drop to my campaigns directory then I or someone else can take a look. It's not very exciting to have to download and organize a bunch of files just to get to hunt someone else's bug.

...and right after writing the above I noticed that the error seems perfectly clear. You don't have a unit type "vampire count" - what you do have is "Vampire Count".

On the graphics, the shadows look quite badly shaped and there isn't really enough difference between the two (try adding some more variation in weapons and armour, and maybe a cloak on the upgraded one). Pretty decent though.

Can't help you with your errors unfortunately.

My guess why it doesn't work is "spaces" of the file names, including the image-icons, and the scenario id.

True. (and I love zookeeper  my wife also has been his fun since she saw his picture with bananas)
Compressing (zipping up) the folder will be needed if still doesn't work.

How is this for an improved 1st level Lord ? I may add something (bandana) to his head and give him a shoulder pad or two. If you like it I'll make advances for you.

Thanks Aura. If you don't mind, I'll certainly take that. I think I'll keep the lvl2 the same though, and i already have an idea for the third

EDIT: Although, saying that, I think I'll replace his sword with that staff :)

Well I don't mind remaking your level 2 with the same overall look but an updated style for you (and I'll add a staff). Your call though.
