My dwarves are casually walking around Astral Port when an Undead phantom turns up from the rough centre on turn 3(!?!) threatening one of my keeps.

Unfortunately his reinforcements were just slightly too far behind to help and the phantom couldn't finish off the stubborn footie and take the keep before he was surrounded by angry thieves.

The map clearly wasn't made with ghost leaders in mind, I might have to think about slowing him down somehow.

TBS, there will be a review on the games and allowing tweaks to be made for round 2? i hope that will spark some interesting power ups for useless units. perhaps we would have a clear winner for the useless unit like in some other tournament not too long ago...

I'm not sure if I will make changes mid tournament. Round 2 essentially consists of the playoffs and then the finals, not too many games. Still I have some changes in mind after watching these tourney games and if people have any suggested changes or problems then I'd love to hear them. If there are enough sizable changes then I may release a new version. How would people feel about completing a short survey after the tournament on the changes? I might make one anyway and if people don't respond then no harm done.

The saurian diviner is kinda useless imo. Besides having a saurian leader, this one have only 5mp which makes it kinda useless for a skirmisher. His other ability is a ranged initiative (+cure, heal). Getting ranged initiative his no use aswell cause you just can't really def with a low res unit like this.

So i'd say either remove that drake leader, either makes it more useful.
I played him against UD though which make him even more useless in the worst match-up for drakes.
So i'd say you could give him some nice ability like hex at least instead of initiative & skirm.

Unfortunately I've been quite busy this week to update this.

I have tried contacting maze however, the only player with 0 games, and I've gotten no response from him. He is hereby disqualified.

From my quick glance everybody else has played at least two games, which will allow you to survive until the end of the weekend at least. I suggest other players would haven't played too many games to finish their prescribed games by then with at least one more completed. I will be talking to individuals in due course.

summary:

We started the game cautious but became risky and sloppy after 10 turns. Then Kira loses a fish (forgot to move) a wose (died to leader and blades at night) and an archer (getting unlucky after trying to trap a badly placed cav). That way I could pressure him already at night, so he had to give up his outer left villages. My inability to count hexes makes me expose my homeland to a fish and a scout and I decide to threaten Kira's keep with my leader. As there is no way for him to defend it and luck doesn't seem to turn he surrenders.

So I continue my loyalist (4/6 games) cleric (3/6 games) streak. Even a noob like me can win with them, but I'd like some more random variety in the future.

Sooo... a game that should be interesting, or maybe a clear win for him with day time combat... became a slaughter for poor Mint after 2 turns of blindness.

My ud (p1 Phantom) won over Dreadnoughs Khalifate (p2 Batal) on fallenstarlake. I made a risky but lucky day counterattack which ended on next morning to a victory for ud. I needed 4 ud games to get a victory
