Yes, we can't wait forever I suppose...

The WTT Opening Ceremony will take place on Saturday at 1600GMT on the 1.9 server

Everybody is of course welcome to attend :) .
The groups will be determined during the ceremony and the Group Stages will open as soon as it is complete. Perhaps if players have time after the ceremony we could also see the first WTT games kick off(It would be really cool to have a couple running at the same time 8) ).

As regards the last 2 places, well it is possible that we will just have 2 groups of 7 players instead of 8.
I'd still imagine they can be filled though and they will be open to any players wishing to join up to 2 weeks into the group stages. I'd ask everybody to encourage their friends to take part, I know quite a few people who hadn't joined/didn't know about WTT until I asked them.

Rigor played the first khalifate game of the tournament on Crescent Lake (I did mention this map is eligible right, it is now :P ).After 18 turns vs my UD hordes the game ended with
Spoiler:
Both replay and last turn save are attached.

And some announcements in my official capacity:

Thousands Stings Garrison is now an allowed map for the group games only with the update from Doc above.
The other maps can be played with or without the above updates.

There is a 1.9 bug where replays don't work on some maps. Players should post both the replay and the last turn auto-save to the forum.

Please be warned about messing about with planning mode during your opponents turn. Rigor dc'ed about half a dozen times during our game due to this.

The groups and table of wins/losses are posted on the front page of the thread, I will keep these up to date.

Cackfiend; If you still want to play I can assign you to one of the remaining 2 spots?

I encourage all players to PM their group opponents immediately to try set a time for their games.

I think assigning Cackfiend to one of the two groups remaining would be imba, imagine Daunt and Cackfiend in the same group! Instead, Cackfiend can join the http://www.brutalwesnoth.com tournament, there are still 13 slots left there :). And you get a chance to win some prizes, Cack :P.
