New here, help needed?

Post by onomastikon »

Hello, I am very new here to BfW, this is my first post. I play the game in English (US) and while English is my primary native language, I am bilingual and fully fluent in German. I am unsure where to post offering my services as a way of saying "thank you" to those who have made all these resources available to people like me: I would be more than happy to help with localizing or improving the localization of content into German. However, I am computer illiterate and do not feel able to learn this WML. If I can be of service, I would be happy if someone could point me in the right direction. I read the stickies before, sorry if this is still posted in the wrong place nevertheless. Thank you.

Welcome.

Fortunately, you do not have to know WML to translate. You just need to download something like poedit and modify the German translation's translation catalogue (.po) files with it. You can get the translation catalogues from here: http://www.wesnoth.org/gettext/index.la ... sion=trunk . I'd also recommend reading the German translation's wiki article: http://wiki.wesnoth.org/GermanTranslation . Finally, some of the German translators hang out in the #wesnoth-de channel on the Freenode IRC network, so you can chat with them there.

Have fun.
