Multiple #po comments?

Post by Simons Mith »

If you've got a longish section of text, such as a unit description, with two or three unrelated parts each deserving of explanation, is it preferable to have one #po comment explaining all the issues, or several #pos, one for each topic? Does having several #po comments pertaining to a single section of text cause anything to break?

I think the current format is one long string for the whole description, everywhere. If so, for technical reasons you're stuck with just one longish comment, too.

IMO unit texts are not so big (yet?). Splitting race backgrounds might not be the worst idea though - these tend to be really gigantic. But this would need more discussion. You might want to post this on translation mailing list, too. It's usually faster and has more audience including the devs that interact with translators...

Thanks. I'll just play it safe and use one #po per string.
