I think the disposition of the castles suggests this could be a map for 4 players, each with a starting castle near a corner and an advanced one. Ofc this map won't ever be balanced, but I think it could be made to be at least playable.
So I started to add a path between the snow castle and the swamp one.

I propose a new rule that those partial hexes way on the edges of the map count as 1/2 of a hex, so it would be less annoying to fill those in.

I'm paving the road between the two northwestern castles, when finished the keeps will be 8 hexes apart. Take it as you want; it's not necessary to replicate this in every corner since we're not striving for balance (also, the southeastern corner would be problematic as it is now). Personally, loving some minor symmetries.

agreed, let's break the symmetry!
