Update Tool?
Is there any sort of update tool for wesnoth? I would like to play online, but my mandrake rpm is too old, and so is my window$ install. Wesnoth is a great game, and it is awesome that you update it so quickly, but I don't want to rebuild it every day
Also, if there is no tool, could you look into adding one? Such as a patching system?

Our focus is to build great game and therefore we focus our resources on game development. All packages/binaries are contributions - someone builds them for us.
You should contact the builder of Mandrake RPM packages (we don't know who packages for Mandrake, (s)he has never contacted us) and try to push him make new package with more recent version. Debian [1], u$win [2] and MacOS X [2] all have binaries for 0.6.99.2. There are rumors that someone is building 0.6.99.2 for BeOS, and there is 0.6.99.2 ebuild for Gentoo [3]

Debian has APT which is update tool to keep your packages up-to-date. Don't know about Mandrake (tool does not help if their package is not up to date, but that is out of our hands). I don't see need for "patch" system - which would anyways be source based, binary patches would be pain (as e.g. different GNU/Linux distributions can have different versions of needed libraries). APT in Debian does the job.
If you have 0.6.1 ("stable") you can play using server.wesnoth.org
If you have 0.6.99.2 ("testing") you can play using devsrv.wesnoth.org
(If you have CVS version ("development") you can play using devsrv.wesnoth.org:14999)
Compiling wesnoth should not be too hard (many say it is easy, some say they can't get it working) and if you stick with "stable" or "testing" release is not so often.
