Icon for the Desktop

Post by columbus »

Hello out there,
I just need an Wesnoth-icon with which I can start the game from the desktop. Where I can get it?

Are you using Linux? I seem to remember Wesnoth is not 100% freedesktop compatible in that regard i.e. IIRC there is not icon in /usr/share/pixmaps

You can look in the images directory of the source.
Under linux I use wesnoth-icon.png as the icon.
Our Windows machine uses a different icon. I am
not sure where it is in the source and I just use the
prebuilt install executable to install it. However that
install file does create a desktop icon.

Sounds like you need to configure with --with-gnome or --with-kde.

Yes, I use Wesnoth with Debian Linux. I don't touch the sources, just install the .deb-Files. And there is indeed no Icon inside this packages!
I will inform the package-maintainers.

Seeing as gnome and kde are not the only DEs to follow freedesktop standards that is a little misleading do you not think?
