Wesnoth has been added in the offical FreeBSD ports tree.
Hello everybody,
I just have ported this game in the offical FreeBSD ports tree recently. If anyone has the problem or something else to make the change, just let me know by PM or email (mezz7_at_cox_dot_net).
Cheers,
Mezz

Savannah just got back few days ago, after being down for many weeks. Don't know if mailing-lists are working already, etc.

ports and packages are different. Ports compiles from the source code and package is already compiled and install by binary.
The packages update once a while like one to two time(s) per month or so, I am not sure. I don't know when exactly, so which meaning you should use ports for now instead. It doesn't take that long to compile.
1) CVSup your ports tree
2) cd /usr/ports/games/wesnoth ; make install clean

I didn't explain myself correctly. I was installing it from ports, but wesnoth sources aren't in FreeBSD's ftp. I've seen now that http://www.wesnoth.org is in MASTER_SITES, so it was probably my problem, because when I did make install it tried to fetch from FreeBSD's ftp, but it wasn't there. Anyway, wesnoth-0.6.1.tar.gz should be in FreeBSD's ftps, shouldn't it?
Umm, not yet.... Like I said wait until the cluster download the tarballs again and ready to build stuff. I have no idea what timeline for FreeBSD to download the distfiles. Wesnoth is still fetchable.
It works fine here and in the bento cluster too.
Code: Select all
