Hello everybody,

I just have ported this game in the offical FreeBSD ports tree recently. :) If anyone has the problem or something else to make the change, just let me know by PM or email (mezz7_at_cox_dot_net).

Cheers,
Mezz

One request though... keep it up-to-date with latest releases *grin*

Nice to have more ports.

Savannah just got back few days ago, after being down for many weeks. Don't know if mailing-lists are working already, etc.

Workaround: subscribe to new releases on Freshmeat [1]

Good news! But I tried yesterday to install it from ports and it seems that the package has dissapeared from FreeBSD's ftp :\

ports and packages are different. Ports compiles from the source code and package is already compiled and install by binary.

The packages update once a while like one to two time(s) per month or so, I am not sure. I don't know when exactly, so which meaning you should use ports for now instead. It doesn't take that long to compile.

1) CVSup your ports tree
2) cd /usr/ports/games/wesnoth ; make install clean

I didn't explain myself correctly. I was installing it from ports, but wesnoth sources aren't in FreeBSD's ftp. I've seen now that http://www.wesnoth.org is in MASTER_SITES, so it was probably my problem, because when I did make install it tried to fetch from FreeBSD's ftp, but it wasn't there. Anyway, wesnoth-0.6.1.tar.gz should be in FreeBSD's ftps, shouldn't it?

Umm, not yet.... Like I said wait until the cluster download the tarballs again and ready to build stuff. I have no idea what timeline for FreeBSD to download the distfiles. Wesnoth is still fetchable. ;)

Code: Select all

# cd /usr/ports/games/wesnoth ; make distclean
===>  Cleaning for esound-0.2.32_1
[...]
===>  Cleaning for wesnoth-0.6.1
===>  Deleting distfiles for wesnoth-0.6.1

# make extract
[...]

>> wesnoth-0.6.1.tar.gz doesn't seem to exist in /usr/ports/distfiles/.
>> Attempting to fetch from http://www.wesnoth.org/files/.
Receiving wesnoth-0.6.1.tar.gz (11616064 bytes): 100% (ETA 00:00)
11616064 bytes transferred in 33.4 seconds (339.31 kBps)
===>  Extracting for wesnoth-0.6.1
>> Checksum OK for wesnoth-0.6.1.tar.gz.
It works fine here and in the bento cluster too.
