Slashdot did a piece on Wesnoth. It sounded interesting. They were right.

I was reading the Wikipedia article for "tactical role-playing games" and somebody helpfully included a link to the game there. 8)

I first found BfW a while ago (before 1.0) and couldn't get myself past the unfinished look. Since then real life has entered the picture and I've found myself with less time, especially gaming time, so I eventually switched from Windows to Linux. Still, I couldn't go that long without playing anything so I started looking for something fun and polished that I can take in short chunks of time. BfW is definitely there now.

From a friend, linux fan. With this OS he installed this game. I find it cool and I'm playing 'till now with an indefatigable interest

I first got it on a Sam Linux CD that my Mom gave me several years ago. Unfortunately, the operating system could only be run off of the CD, so I lost all my saved games every time I shut the computer down.
More recently, I obtained Wesnoth 1.4 from the official BFW website (i.e. wesnoth.org) :)
Completed Add-Ons (BfW 1.4): Dark Century (era); From Darkness to Light (campaign); Rise of Toraila (era); Forty Years Exile (campaign); (BfW 1.6.5) Improved Era (era)

In Process (BfW 1.6.5): Crystal of Sight (campaign)
