I was browsing Sourceforge for turn based strategy games:

http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trov ... orm_cat=83

Downloaded the game on a whim, love it. More people would probably be drawn to it if there was a screenshot or two on that page though.

Hey, I just checked the Linux Game tome, and BfW had an average rating of 5 out of 5! (Not surprising 8) )

Prattle for Wet Moths

I learned about the game by clicking on the "gaming" link in del.ic.ious popular links section. There is a blog post about 100 free games, and I picked Wesnoth (listed at #84) by chance. I have recently downloaded Warlords II which has a lot in common with Wesnoth except that the last development done on it was over 10 years ago.

Started playing Wesnoth in June 2007 and well done for creating such a great game!

How I found the game.

Post by Edward V Riley »

I did a search for Turn based Strategy games. This one kept popping up everywhere. Once I found out that the developers also developed Warsong and Master of Monsters, I knew I'd give it a go. Guess you can give the nod to google for finding it, but Wikipedia for interesting me in it.

Well honestly, I was just randomly surging the net and happened on something that was talking about "The Battle for Wesnoth" and I got really curious. I dont remember what site it was, but I downloaded it and gave it a try. I still cant believe this is a free game. I LOVE IT!
