I got my first copy of the Battle for Wesnoth in the CD that used to come with Mac Addict Magazine, before they became Mac Life and lost the monthly CD. Still a great magazine though.

I learned of Wesnoth through Home of the Underdogs. I probably wont be very active on the forums, but I wanted to tell the game-creators that I think they've made an awesome game. Game-creators: you've made an awesome game!
See you out on the multiplay server!

I think he means illegal to play them IN PRISON. And by 'illegal' I think he probably means it was simply against prison rules.
I think some US prisons allow games, but some don't....
Ah, thanks for clarifying.

My friend told me about it, though he didn't pronounce the name right, so I spent 4 hours searching the web for "Battle for Wencesnaus."

I think I was looking for warlords clones, and somehow managed to stumble across this while google-ing. or at least I have the initial downloads of this game and freelords on the same day, at similar times.
