A Good Starting Campaign
For the Undead? The one that just comes with the game is a bit hard for me so far, and I haven't had much experience with the game yet, but I really want to try to play the undead. So what campaign would one recommend to me for a budding necro?

I suggest you try a few skirmish matches with you as the undead to get your skills up, then attempt the campaign.

Tried that already. I just want a campaign that's easy enough to play undead, but at the same time is challenging enough to push you to really use their abilities.

There really aren't any terribly easy campaigns on the add-on server. A Tale of Two Brothers is pretty fun.

I'm not looking for an easy campaign, i'm looking for a campaign to help ease me into the role of PLAYING undead, not against them. I've already played through Tale of Two Brothers.

Oh not ToTB, I meant Descent Into Darkness.

If you don't find it on addons, I think it doesn't exist.Vinedragon wrote:I'm not looking for an easy campaign, i'm looking for a campaign to help ease me into the role of PLAYING undead, not against them. I've already played through Tale of Two Brothers.

Atari, Descent into Darkness isn't particularly easy, and it requires a very particular campaign strategy. That's the only mainline Undead campaign, which he said was a bit too hard for him.

Campaigns aren't very suitable to "train" a certain faction actually. I'd just go for normal matches instead...
Technically you can play my multiplayer campaign The 7 Seasons. There you can play with any faction (and you can also play both sides at once if you want to play it alone). Increase your starting gold from 100 to 200 and it's fairly easy. Just make sure you finish each map early on to have high gold on the next map again.

I don't think the Undead have any skills other than submerge which is basically useless. The skellies are just too weak against fire, impact, and arcane to be much good, anyone who's fought them will just go for fire-impact-arcane units.
Look thru the add-ons for undead campaigns, I think there are several there.

Poison (Ghoul line), plague (Walking Corpse line), nightstalk+backstab (Shadow branch), drain (Lich, Ghost, Wraith branch). Mobility can be very important in some circumstances (scouting, village grabbing), and units from the Vampire Bat and Ghost unit trees have a fair amount of that.Finrod wrote:I don't think the Undead have any skills other than submerge which is basically useless.
