Dwarves and forest

Maybe poachers move through the forest cautiously and stealthily, which is why they have high defence, while the dwarves just go crashing through it.

Yeah. Dwarves aren't exactly subtle.

Anyway, dwarves are small, so they can run underneath branches that would force a human to stop and duck, and also go through small gaps between trees. Humans must skirt around.

While we're at it, elves can probably go through forest so fast because they run along the tree branches in the canopy.
