How do you upload a campaign to the 1.7.11 add-ons server?

Post by artisticdude »

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I wasn't sure about posting it in the campaign development forum or in the technical support forum. Please move it to the correct forum if necessary. Thanks! :)

I use the 1.7.11-1.8beta4 version of wesnoth, and am trying to upload a campaign from the add-ons server. The wiki says there should be an option at the very bottom of the add-ons list that allows you to upload a campaign, but it isn't there. Is uploading campaigns available yet in this version of wesnoth, or is there something I'm missing in the wiki?

If the option isn't there, that means you have an incorrect (or nonexistent) pbl file.

I have the .pbl file, and I just double checked everything. Do I put it in the campaign folder (the one that contains the main.cfg)? And where should I put the campaign folder, in wesnoth/data/add-ons or data/campaigns? Here's the contents of the .pbl file in case I'm just not seeing something obvious.

Code: Select all

title="The Traitor"
type="campaign"
icon="units/human-loyalists/lieutenant.png"
version="1.0"
author="artisticdude"
passphrase="Deathvalley"
description="Ryant will do anything to keep the great alliance in one piece. But can he kill his best friend in order to do so? Comments and critique are welcome."

The .pbl file and campaign folder both go in wesnoth/data/add-ons/

You will want to change your passphrase if you really did just post it.

It is the right place on Mac, but it seems different from other operating systems. This thread may help you? : http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=27063

The .pbl file can be either wesnoth/data/add-ons/campaigndirname.pbl or wesnoth/data/add-ons/campaigndirname/_server.pbl.

Thanks all, I've got it working now (and the password I posted wasn't the real one, so no worries there). :D
