Upgrading to Different Versions Within Same Tree

Hello All,

So, I didn't want to ask an already answered question, but I didn't quite find the answer in my searches, so here goes;

I've been told that you can keep your saved data from one version to another version within the same tree (in this case, I'm going from 1.62 to 1.63)

Is there anything special you must do beyond downloading the upgraded version for this to happen? If so, how does that work?
