Some things I appreciate.

Post by A Guy »

I appreciate that someone took the time to make the FORCE_CHANCE_TO_HIT macro and that someone else took the time to put it into mainline.

Just some of these small things that I appreciate.

It goes without saying that I appreciate the game.

I'm not familiar with that macro or Wesnoth macros in general. What's awesome about the FORCE_CHANCE_TO_HIT macro?

I appreciate that someone, whoever it was, sat down and thought "how can I make the ultimate undead killer that won't unbalance the game," and gave us the Mage of Light. :D

Seriously, thanks for my favorite unit.

Oh, and whoever decided to include zone of control, thank you.

1. the person who thought it would be a good idea to let people split scenarios into multiple (re-usable) files.

2. the person who decided you should be able to use the value of one variable in the name of another (you're like my favorite person ever. unless number 3 comes true).

3. the person who is going to (soon) make it possible for WML to write, read, and interperate simple text files on a line by line basis (please? I will really appreciate you if you do it like I'll make a whole addon dedicated to you)

I think this could become the next "You know you've been playing wesnoth too long when..." thread :P

I don't. Terrain based factions are awful due to their dependence on not being hit in their preferred terrain, and proceed to be overrun when their 70% def doesn't occur, whereas with something like drakes, you know that you'll be hit anywhere, and that any other result is almost always a good thing

You've broken the run. :annoyed:

God and the ensuing flame wars haven't been mentioned in months.

According to the necessity of things being created by other things, if you decided to thank god, you would have to thank an infinite line of gods, and thats troublesome :)

Thanks whoever put togheder the mythology of this game, who managed to make it something interesting and sense-making, differently from many fantasy games out there that make logic-lovers like me want to bang their skulls against the keyboard until both crack.

I appreciate the tips I've gotten over the years from the player community, especially in the beginning. They really helped me get a lot more enjoyment out of the game than I would've been able to get figuring everything out on my own, considering the headaches I've gotten from trying. I also appreciate good teammates of which I've had plenty. I must admit that many, not all but many of my better moves were advised from a comrade in arms. Finally, I appreciate whomever decided to extend drain to ghosts, because that was really the turning point from their priorly unplayable state, though I must note it did shave it rather close to being almost too effective of a change at first.
Htonsew Rof Elttab Eht is just too cool for school. I've got no words to describe it. Have any of you guys tried it? ;-)
