I hope Mal Keshar isn't going to die?

Post by woodmouse »

Well, this topic is just to ask, that is anyone planning on killing Mal Keshar in any campaign? Because I hope no one will, because in the campaign I'm now making, I would love to use him. Just in a small role, so he will only be mentioned and seen in a small role. Of course, the campaign I'm making will be many, many millenniums after The Fall, so I need to be sure no one will kill him.

The good thing is that even for the vagaries of fantasy, someone being involved in necromancy gives you lots of leeway and wiggle room for what is dead and not dead.

Its always possible to revive (although "vive" means "life", so not really) them as a ghost or an Ancient Lich, and just say that the entire seeming death/undeath/dead undeath/etc. was just another step into an even more DEADLY transformation.
Don't go to Glowing Fish for advice, he will say both yes and no.

Actually, vivere means to live, so revivere, or revive in English, would mean to live again. Which fits perfectly for an undead. ;)

Oh... Well, then I must just use a different necromancer... OR I could make it so he is somehow resurrected.

Mal Keshar really isn't that awesome.
Spoiler:
Plus, it's hardly difficult to find a lich when you need one in Wesnoth. They seem to be the Stock Villain Guy in the absence of a more obviously evil mainline faction than Undead, even though no one explains what part of becoming a lich makes you a power-crazed monster (although OTOH, Mal Keshar wasn't one) - or indeed, what part of putting the bodies of the dead to use is evil. But that second point is a controversial debate I don't want to open in this forum.

Mal is the greatest! :o
I mean, he's been used so many times, in so many stuff, he's became my favorite of all people in Wesnoth.
So he will be resurrected.

No. He's going to be destroyed by a huge explosion along with a substantial part of the Wesmere valley.

This is included in the storyboard for After the Storm which I posted in one of your countless other threads.

He's been used once in DiD and once in IftU.
Plus, the fact he's been used already should be a reason to not touch him with a barge-pole IMHO. You want a cool necromancer to reuse, try Gwiti Ha'atel of TDH - we haven't confirmed when he died yet, and if anyone can come back from the dead-again, I say he can.
Spoiler:
Besides, I say you should stop thinking "Oh, I'll have this, and I'll have this, and it'll be awesome!", sit down, and write a storyboard. Otherwise, you'll never get anything done with the campaign. There's a reason I'm dragging my feet with Fool's Errand, and especially with SCE, in a way I didn't with Necromancer.

Ok, well, umm.
Mal Keshar will be resurrected by the Mystic Mage, then.
Also, Gwiti Ha'atel will be, after I check what he is like.

Go play SCE. Then see if you can take your attitude to using chars from other campaigns seriously. :P
