THoT, why heal?

Post by F50 » May 5th, 2008, 3:18 am

Why does the Dwarf Witness have healing? It is somewhat uncharacteristic of the Dwarves and is not needed in any scenario except perhaps Invaders. By the time healing is really useful, white mages are available.

EDIT: To clarify, it is actually the third level of the Dwarf Witness that has healing.

Except for the healing (and perhaps cure), actually I think he fits in quite well.

IIRC, esr wanted them to be the the dwarvish equivalents of our real-life medics.

They (dwarf witnesses) seem to be more like judges rather than medics though.

I have to say I found the dwarvish witness line to be too overpowered. Any of the dwarvish witness's abilities could be justified for that character, but the number of abilities available at the higher levels (good speed, slow attack, magical attacks, leadership, healing) were a bit much.

I personally feel this is a case where less is more.
