SurvivalX isn't survival, isn't RPG
I hate it when I say "ok I'm willing to play a survival" or "I'd like a RPG" and someone puts up a survivalX. It is neither of these things. Especially the latter.
What makes a RPG is not stats,(which survivalX has no more of then any other wesnoth game) or upgrading. Its story! Survival X has no story. A game with a good story can easily be called a RPG even with no upgrades or stats at all, the same could not be said with the other way around.
And regular survival games play very different then survival x games thus should never be used interchangably as terms.

maybe it should be called a DBZ then, in reference to powered up anime characters

Boo hoo. Now that's cleared up why don't you just say I'm ready to play anything but SX? And how do you know that those people are putting the game up for you? Could be just on impulse.TruePurple wrote:I hate it when I say "ok I'm willing to play a survival" or "I'd like a RPG" and someone puts up a survivalX. It is neither of these things. Yes, you're right. I just like picking on people who can't seem to get over their problems and so have to make a thread complaining about it.TruePurple wrote:Its not about that particular example Darth Jordius, its about using the right terms for the right things so people know what other people are talking about. And nothing said here warrants your crocodile tears.
BTW there are more types then just those 3.
I just call it an "SX".

Thanks Quietus. Benurban is also a reliable player, and so is nataS. And I'm not sure if you use stable or development, but we're all on the development server.

Well, actually I have 1.2.8, 1.3.14, and (the fixed) 1.3.15a all installed on my computer. I haven't had any problems with 1.3.14, so I'd been using that too.
And Lim, that list really doesn't apply to people who play Survival Xtreme, just players in general.

If I'm not mistaken you still can for the time being, until the official development version 1.3.15 build for the Mac comes out, at which the 1.3.14 will be shut down.
It's better to just go on the new version (1.3.15) if you're not using a Mac, or use the unofficial (use at your own risk) build for the time being here.

Take a breath.
