Anyway, I liked ol' Wesnoth 1.0.1's Drake-Turn-Music quite a lot. I wonder why it was removed... :hmm:
VLC?
Mmmh, thanks, that one looks promising. I'll try it out. :)

It doesn't get any better than Loyalists theme for me. Wesnoth, being a turn-based strat game, deserves relatively calm music. The Loyalists theme makes me envision two armies marching to meet each other on the battlefield, but not the action of clashing just yet. The reservedness of the theme makes it a great one to think to.

I also really like Breaking the Chains.

I like the loyalist theme and the Wanderer one.
I got lost in thought, it was unknown territory.

WinAmp for Windows. (Freeware, not open-source)
XMMS for GNU/Linux. (Free software, GNU GPL v2+)

Those are the ones I use.

Isn't there one called Rhapsody or something too? I use WinAmp.

Oh, and my favorite is either "Frantic" or the Northerners theme.

Incidentally, "Still Another Wanderer" is my 3rd most-played track at last.fm, and "The Knolls of Doldesh" is my 9th. :P

My favorite one is "Legends of the North". But, it isn't suitable to use in battle. It's better in the prologue I think.

It's hard to choose because there are so many great ones! The minute 4:00-5:00 on Timothy P's "The Gnolls of Doldesh" once made me pause during a match and try to figure out which song was playing. ;)

Hmmm. I wish I could have a tracklisting, in the Mus Dev area for instance.

Since this topic has been reanimated:
I wish there was a "Now playing ..."-indicator in the game itself (e.g. right side of top level) !
Meanwhile I know most of the main-tunes, but how often did I pause a match to figure out which song was playing ...

To keep to the subject-matter: Since the first time I listened to it "Legends of the north" remains my favorite ...
preferably with gryphons arriving on the scene as well.

When I first heard Legends of the North, I kept starting Northern Rebirth over and over again only to listen to it - you see, I didn't know how to find the game folders yet :-P But since a few years ago Vengeful Pursuit has been my favourite; whenever I think of it, I imagine a story in which two people chase each other across the ancient world, resolved not to stop until only one remains - a true vengeful pursuit :-D
