So I did. Still the code actually does nothing, except possibly serve as a very bad smoke bomb.

That's because you put everything inside the [variable] tag, instead of just the variable filters.

Only you guys could turn this thread into a WML Workshop. ;)

Yup, I do know a fair amount of WML, probably enough to get a campaign done if I wanted, but I can never really find an idea that I like enough to invest the amount of time into making one. However, that may have changed recently, and I am currently working on plotting out a campaign about a certain desert faction.

At the moment I'm still in PhP and JavaScript mode, WML is coming to me but variable manipulation is prooving a little tricky to get my head around at the moment.

Code: Select all

if( variable_name() == "value") {action}
seems a lot easier to me than using a load of tags. I'm sure that will change, given enough time.

You know you've been playing wesnoth too long when:

1) You've noticed an improvement in your spriting AND your regular art because you play wesnoth

2) You try to make a mod that is pretty much a new game, because you're bored.

3) You've quit and come back to wesnoth 3 times

4) Whenever you talk to your friends at school about videogames you always tend to veer onto the subject of Wesnoth and often end up trying to get them to start playing.

What no concealment?
Or submerge?
Or cavestalk, swampstalk, mirage, snowblind or forumstalk?
And With the release of Mercenaries Era you should have swapped feeding for absorb, it would make you much better...
And you have the ban power, why did you never mention your 40-1 circle stones dragonstaff?
Circle being the 100% chance to hit ability from Era of Magic, for those who don't know it.

1094: When you've already found an easy way to skip that.

If anything I'd worry more about one of the programmers being put in the game - they're WML immune!

apply_to=resistance
replace=true
[resistance]

Done.

EDIT: AI can't be killed. He's like Turuk.

Hmm perhaps we've discovered the real reason for Lua scripts being included.

1095 - When you start to think Wesnoth might just well be SkyNet, I mean Turuk only exists on the forum at the moment, but in time the game engine will have a body for him, and he will rise and teleport back in time, though with a strange non-ability to travel directly east or west.
