Wesnoth Forum Ladder
I have noticed after using the Unofficial Ladder of Wesnoth (for about 2 minutes) that its really not the best to use for tourneys or competitions. So I have decided to create this, a topic that allows players to communicate over the forums itself to find games and matches against other players. Players may then PM or contact these players to set up a game on the Official Network. If you so choose, set up your multiplayer wins in your signature like so: "MP wins= 18!" or "18 MP wins guys!", for some suggestions.
Each player may put his multiplayer name up on the forum (please use no more than 1 line, so as to save space on a single page) to sign up to play a game. Once the player has found a match, if he or she so chooses he may delete the post. This is still not an "Official" ladder, yet its purpose is to allow current users of the forums to find matches within the Wesnoth community.
Any critiques about this or things that I missed on this topic, please DO NOT put it on the topic page. PM me and I will acknowledge it.
Thank you
I am looking for a game by the way. My screen name is Great_Mage_Atari.

Re: Wesnoth Forum Ladder
To be clear, there is no "official" ladder. The Battle for Wesnoth project does not endorse any of these sorts of things. They bring unwanted invocations of the SeriousBusiness trope to our otherwise peaceful community.
Also, if people are setting up their matches by PM, then what on earth is purpose of this thread? All it will be is people saying "I want to play in your club". Which, since the only response to such statements is a PM from you, they're better off just PMing you anyway.
Once again you have baked an idea halfway at best.

Re: Wesnoth Forum Ladder
To be CLEAR, this is only for people who want to play the MP games. PMing is only one option given. I understand there is no official ladder, therefore me stating it is not official. Get it?
This is merely a way for players to state "hey, I wanna play MP today, anybody game?" I understand one player could PM another to state that they want to play, but this just like a board in which to find players and discuss a game in which both (or all) the players wish to play.
Also, as I have said before and shall say again, please bring advice and critique to me, not posting it on the forum.

Re: Wesnoth Forum Ladder
Posting on the forums is not any better than asking for a game in the lobby. In fact it's worse because the forum doesn't show when people have left and therefor aren't looking anymore.
And I placed that particular critique of this thread's limited usefulness in the thread, so that things would be clear when I locked it.
Which is now. Because this thread is pointless. It is inferior to the lobby and unofficial ladder in every way.
