Clear

Clear, simple
Content Feedback wrote:(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
Water is pretty much the worst terrain, as it has only 20% defence bonus, so pretty much any attack will cause damage. Fighting with high-level units means that the attacks will cause a lot of damage. So, even though you can have more units and ultimately overwhelm the enemy, no unit is safe - you're bound to lose some units here, and that means you have to protect specially Delfador and Lionel if you don't want to lose. I have read on previous commentaries that the level was too difficult - probably it was changed, because when I played it the enemy would recruit units only in small numbers.

Content Feedback wrote:(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
You have a deadly combo here: Water + High-level enemies. It's hard to work on that. Small number of enemy units: boring level. Not so small number of enemy units: unbeatable.

No

1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on?

- 1.14.5, Normal

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)

- 5

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?

- Clear

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?

- Very nice. I like the idea where you are not supposed to kill the enemy leader, but merely get to his castle to complete the scenario. It was a nice twist of the orcs knocking Delfador out of his senses at the end.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?

- Trying not to be trampled by the woses while in the water

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)

- 5

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?

- Make Ur-Thorodor static, without him moving at all or the scenario is done for

(8) Was there any event that caused you to lose the game and forced you to reload or restart the scenario?

- None

(9) If you know a bit of the Wesnoth Markup Language - do you think that the WML of this scenario is clear and well commented? If not which part would you like to be documented better?

- No

1) What difficulty level and version of Wesnoth have you played the scenario on?

Great Mage (Difficult), 1.14.7

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)

3

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?

Very clear.

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?

It was clear, but not very interesting. This Ancient Wose seems to be very naive, especially since the king can't really guarantee Delfadors promise, as evidenced by the orcs.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?

None.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)

3

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?

-

(8) Was there any event that caused you to lose the game and forced you to reload or restart the scenario?

No.

(1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on?

1.10, 1.12 and 1.14 all difficulty levels.

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)

Despite the fact that it seems to have got easier it's still around a 6.

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?

Quite clear - get to the enemy keep but don't kill the leader.

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?

It's clear though these Woses seem to be quite fickle in their relationships.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?

This was a much tougher scenario for me until I figured that Woses are generally pierce resistant. It got much easier when I figured that blade, arcane and fire are the way to go. Then there was the ending when everything goes black and I'm sitting there waiting for something to happen staring at a black screen. Took me some minutes to figure that I needed to click on 'End scenario'.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)

This scenario got much better from when you got attacked in the water by Gryphons. Now you seem to get blocked by Woses and it's actually quite engaging so I'd give this an 8.

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?

It's fine. Besides I don't know what you could do because the battle is one of the smallest battles in the game. I mean what other scenario involves fighting in a few dozen hexes in a map?

(8) Was there any event that caused you to lose the game and forced you to reload or restart the scenario?

Yes. Trying to win the scenario through using pierce units. Good way to lose units.

(9) If you know a bit of the Wesnoth Markup Language - do you think that the WML of this scenario is clear and well commented? If not which part would you like to be documented better?

N/A

1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on?

Difficult

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)

7

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?

Clear

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?

Clear, averagely interesting

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?

When AI recruited gryphons it became very difficult to defend units in water. But when AI recruited mostly woses I could just burn them with the magi. It's a big issue with this scenario: its difficulty depends too much on the AI recruitment choices.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)

3

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?

Solve the issue of (5)

(8) Was there any event that caused you to lose the game and forced you to reload or restart the scenario?

Yes, getting experienced mages killed by gryphons.

Wesnoth 1.14.11, hardest: 'Great Mage' (difficult), no reloading during campaign; played the scenario several times
Content Feedback wrote: May 22nd, 2009, 11:14 pm (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
4 (in comparison with the rest of the campaign)
Content Feedback wrote: May 22nd, 2009, 11:14 pm (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
I am not sure what "to the castle" means - do I have to put Delf onto a castle tile or next to one or sth else?
Content Feedback wrote: May 22nd, 2009, 11:14 pm (4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
The "you are different" change of mind after winning didnt seem properly convincing to me. I mean they were fighting to the death one turn before and then suddenly they are best friends?
(Edit: Dont remember the rest of the dialogue - and due to the replay error I cant reread it.)

Getting rid of the 80% or nothing scheme (without even telling the player how much the next scenario starting gold default is) would help. While I dont think the plus-40% scheme is good its IMO at least better than the one used in this campaign. (Forgot to mention that in my earlier reviews. This scenario is less affected by this than earlier ones.)

(Didnt look at the WML.)

There is some error in the replay after winning - no idea why.
