Thought I'd point out that the map editor still has consistent crashing upon trying to load or save a map file on Mac OS X.
I'm assuming this has already been reported to the GitHub repository, but it looked like it was marked as closed/fixed? (https://github.com/wesnoth/wesnoth/issues/1975). At least on my end, it still remains as a bug. There were a couple different reports with the map editor label, so it might still be considered a known issue, I wasn't sure.

A minor frustration to have to make maps in 1.12.6 and then copy the files to the 1.13 folder to load or save anything, but that's my current workaround :).

Other than that, 1.13.10 looks great so far. :D

Thanks,

I think the issue you're experiencing is more likely #2094, which as you can see is still open.

More likely it didn't come up in your search because someone had forgotten to tag it MacOS (which I fixed around the time I pointed it out to you).

The 1.13.10 Mac package has been updated.

There was a library linking issue where it wasn’t pulling the library from the package. (Thanks to sinda on Discord for reporting this!) The new link is here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/wesnot ... g/download.

Links on the website will be updated immediately.

I apologize for the trouble. Do you have 1.13.10 or 1.13.10a?

If you don’t have 1.13.10a, please re-download Wesnoth as this should now be fixed.

ancestral: FYI, I get that error too, using 1.13.10a. After I created a link to the missing libcrypto library in that location (I have it elsewhere from macports, while you use homebrew, I believe), Wesnoth starts just fine. So it looks like there's a local link left somewhere in the package.

Looks like I must have uploaded the wrong file. I’ll fix it. Look forward to a 1.13.10b.

Edit: Updated with new link.

I can now use 1.13 branch on Mac 10.12.6 again, but I still have another problem with 1.13. Whenever I try to load a map in the map editor, the game immediately crashes, without an error message or anything. Here is the error message my Mac posts:

I’m glad you brought this up.

This is a known issue with one of the libraries. I’m hoping another developer who owns a Mac can assist on the issue.

@Torgama, this is true, but it’s not an issue. Wesnoth was previously approved. AFAIK things are correctly in place for a future Steam release.

I guess that last line was aimed at me, ;) so I've done some more digging and found that the crash originates in file_dialog.cpp#L96 when called from file_dialog.cpp#L493.

I have no idea what to do about this, but the comments in the lines above that saying that "No, we don't really need to worry about it." are maybe not correct? It also might confirm that this is some sort of a problem with the locale, as was previously mentioned by somebody (maybe Celtic_Minstrel?).

I hope that somebody who actually knows C++ can take it from here.
