Update from old version to new version [Windows]
Greetings!
I know, that there is no automatic way to update an old version of Battle for Wesnoth to a newer on (for excample 1.8.1 to 1.10.7). But could please someone explain to me how it is possible to use a newer installed version with my old save-games or campaign-progress (inkluding the tags that mark which campaigns I already played through)?
I searched this forum and the web for this question but found nothing helpful. Sorry if it is explained already somewhere where I didn't find it.
Thanks!
Frank

read this to locate the user data directories:

copying the save files is less likely to work (e.g. due to changes in the campaigns).

the file named preferences contains the campaign progress (laurels).FrankBlack78 wrote:But could please someone explain to me how it is possible to use a newer installed version with my old save-games or campaign-progress (inkluding the tags that mark which campaigns I already played through)?
