Debian packages

Post by Anonymous coward »

In the old binaries section:
Debian GNU/Linux: Wesnoth is an official Sid package since version 0.4.7 (use apt-get). An older version (0.3.4) can be found here: http://wesnoth.whitevine.net/files/wesn ... 1_i386.deb
Wesnoth is not an official debian package, and I can't find any information about it in packages.debian.org

Debian package has been build (that is what we have been told) and it has been injected in the system... yet it has not appeared in Debian. I quess we will just have to wait.

I removed "official Debian package" information from WesnothBinaries for now.

Wesnoth is in Debian Sid now...

I did a update of my packages and saw this game in dselect. For all you Debianites out there, you can now apt-get wesnoth and wesnoth-data... some standard dependencies are required. Dselect did a nice job of installing correctly. I can't wait to try it out!

I installed from the debian package as well, the only downside is it's a little behind,
and the differences between 0.4.8 or whatever it was debian has, and 0.5.1 is amazing enough that it's worth compiling it from source to get the latest.

v0.5.1 is in Debian unstable already, it will find it's way to testing when it is time.

So if you don't want to build from sources you can most likely use packages from Debian unstable *grin*
