...

The "windows" download link on the main page is to the source files.

Found the installer and got zlib1.dll from my gf, but still won't work.
Can someone please compile a "patched" windows version?

Fix for UTBS

Post by Eckhart Wörner »

Hi,

the following patch fixes some problems with UTBS in 1.1.3.
It works fine at least for me, I got it from Soliton/IRC.

Here is my Mac build of the Battle for Wesnoth 1.1.3.
It is expected to work on any Mac, PPC or Intel, with OS greater or equal to 10.3.9.

* Full version, with build kit and map editor, 68.8 Mb
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... g?download

* Lite version, without image arts and musics, 38.9 Mb
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... g?download

Note, the game icon is the same as previously, because I didn't have the time to change the disk image display. You can find Jetryl's new one (shield and swords) in the build kit.

Another note: the build kit works if you have SDL libs compiled for universal binary within the 10.4u SDK. If you don't have or don't need to cross compile, just change the SDK of the project for the native one.

Yeah, I'm now waiting for a better optimized Windows version, 1.1.3a, or 1.2.

This version won't even open for me in Windows. It loads fine, but the title screen never comes up.

I just got it too and I'm getting the loading screen (WOO! never thought I'd see a nicer loading screen!) and then...it just quits on me right after it says its loading the title screen.

My version of windows is Windows XP PRO with Service pack 2

Heres a patch that contains all old dll files you may need to play wesnoth 1.1.3 on windows... its a downgrade sort of but it makes the game work and you can enjoy the new sounds etc :P
http://www.shark5060.net/user/fricken/wesnoth.rar

simply extract into your base wesnoth directory, maybe keep a backup of your old sdl files

Yogi Bear wrote:This is two different things: The server has been restarted and is accepting 1.1.3 now.

For the DLL-problem: It looks like there are no problems on Windows XP (which i am using) but on older versions. The reason is an incompatibility between sdl_image.dll and zlib1.dll (the latter is not needed on Windows XP so i omitted it).

In this case use sdl_image.dll and zlib1.dll from the wesnoth 1.1.2a installation and copy them into 1.1.3. I will see if i find a better solution for this.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Edit: hehe, FrickenMoron was first :) .
heh but yours was eayer to understand. and thanks mate

I can manage Wesnoth 1.1.3 run on Windows without any patches or downloading additional DLLs, but it perfomance a slightly bad than 1.1.2. And 1.1.2 not very good in this terms either.

In 1.1.3. I got very large lags when attacking (especially when particular animation loaded 1st time).
