1. hard 112a
2. 8, major pain entering this scenario with no level 2 units.
3. kill bad guys, clear as day
4. good and clear enough
5. surviving against the orc onslaught. Between the masses of troops and the damn level 2 warrior guardians... I managed to get quite a few level 2 units, but quite a few of them also died. Very bloody battle.
6. 7. Bloody battles are fun, though it was slightly frustrating to finally get level 2 units and be unable to screen them from the orcish tidal wave.
7. lvl 3 warlords seems really harsh so early. Especially when they're crammed into the corner and only a few units can attack them at a time. I suggest moving the orc camps further in towards the map so you can surround these lvl 3 orc leaders.

Non level 1 casualty report:
1 Knight, 1 Red Mage, 1 Pikeman, 1 Outlaw (the princess)

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on?
Easy, 1.1.2a

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
3/10, the Orcs sent 2 wolf riders north through the mountains, so I killed them with Haldric, Lady Outlaw and Burin... The rest of the massive army destroyed southwards!

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
Kill enemies... nothing tough.

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the
scenario?
Interesting with the Dwarf... When I chose River Road at the end, his portrait didn't appear... Now I can't remember whether he had one in the first place.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
Not having that Orcish Slayer kill my wounded knight.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)
8/10, nice. A dwarf.

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
Prboably impossible, but have the appearing Orcish Slayer at the end always appear adjacent to Haldric, just to make it harder.

1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on?
Medium difficulty. Version 1.1.2a

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
6/10 - breaking through the orcs was harder then I expected.

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
It would be pretty hard to get confused by "defeat all enemies" :).

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
Excellent. The bit with the dwarf was good. Still having issues with portraits not being shown during dialog. Burin's portrait only showed up once.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
Breaking through the second wave of orcs, the ones that arrives after I had overrun their scouts. Also, they sent a bunch of wolves north through the mountains which was annoying.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)
5/10 - It was a little bit basic, but not at all bad.

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
Can't think of any off the top of my head.

(1) 1.0.2 medium level
(2) 7. I think Burin gave me a nice help in the mountains
(3) Very clear. Kill every dirty leader
(4) Nothing special
(5) Keeping Burin, L. Outlaw and my 2 pikemens alive
(6) 7. It's the first real challenge of the campaign
(7) Add another road through the mountains

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on?

Medium, 1.2.

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)

6. Some minor hitches with forgetting to secure the rear against the wolves, but mostly it was straightforward.

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?

Crystal.

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?

It's progressing; otherwise this part of the story was nothing special.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?

So much poison! My white mage had to work overtime. The flanking wolves were also a tactical nuisance, but fun to counter.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)

9. Keep up the good work!

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?

What is the point of the village in that valley north of the rightmost orc? I wasted a few turns getting to it to find that it was nothing special.

1,3
(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) (3)
This is one of my favourite map, it s not hard, taking their bosses is a little harder, because i didn't have lvl 2 units, but a fairly easy map.

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
Clear as a dirty window
(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
It was mysterius, and I like the dwarf! he is so fun.

1) Medium, 1.2.4
2) 4
3) Clear
4) Excellent!
5) Keeping those wolf riders away from my villages. And I guess it would have been harder if those assassins had turned up at dusk instead of in daylight.
6) 10 - great dialog; Burin is a good device & makes the mountainous bits of the fight much more bearable; interesting tactics as you work your way down the valley
7) -
8 ) start gold 471

Hard, 1.3.2

7

very
(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
Surviving when in the middle of the map is a trivial, but can be done. Once you kill the huge part of orcish army it is all a question of time to arrive before the end of the turns

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on?
1.2.3, Hard

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
7

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
Clear

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
I find the concept of being outflanked in a mountain range a bit strange, but I guess orcs are better suited to that terrain.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
I had two knights and two high-exp horsemen left over, so got a bit over-eager and over extended myself in the initial charge, only to be flanked by goblin riders later. If it weren't for recently bought Wesfolk cannon fodder, it would have ended in tears.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)
6. It's a bit of a let down at the end, when after finally breaking through the orcs you reach their leaders only to sit around for a few turns waiting for daylight/units to move in position, etc. Taking down each level 3 warlord felt like a whole battle in itself.

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
Maybe more gold for the orcs, but lower level leaders.

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on?
Easy, Wesnoth 1.2.5 (stable).
(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
6 - easy to win, but also easy to take losses
(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
Its straight forward and makes a nice connection in the "escape" storyline.
(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
I love this campaign, it really makes sense to me.
(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
Don't over extend your forces (mounted troops) down the canyon, advance with caution. Don't let yourself be flanked by nasty orcssess sneaking through the mountains. What's in its pocketsess then?
(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)
7 great idea, the ending is an anticlimax, trying to swamp the leaders who are defending their camps.
(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
When the leaders are obviously outnumbered, have them escape to the mountains to try and evade capture.
Have the dwarf find his axe in the mountains first once he's awake.
Started playing Wesnoth in June 2007 and well done for creating such a great game!

Hard - 1.2.7

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
very

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
so far so good

8 - fun enough, I keep coming back to it

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on?
Medium 1.4.7
(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
8. All their units met with mine head on. Neither leader chose to scout. Also very difficult to arrange units so that your important ones are not killed
(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
Very clear
(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
Clear enough. Liked the artwork of Eldaric clubbing orcs left right and centre
(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
Positioning Units. This reminds me of The Crossroads in Heir to the Throne. Very difficult to place units in unfavorable terrain
(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)
Despite all the bloodshed and loss, 10. I leveled at least 7 units alone from this level, possibly more
(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
None really. I was thankful I could kill both enemy leaders at the same time or those stupid assassins would have made things difficult

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on?
Hard 1.6.0

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
For reference, I went into the scenario with 168 gold, and...
Haldric level 2
Lady Outlaw lvl 1 with 25ish xp
1 knight, 3 swordsmen, 1 longbowman, 2 heavy infantry w/30 xp

Even not recalling 1 sword and 1 bow, the scenario wasn't too difficult. Having 2 heavy infantry so close to upgrading was a big help, as they could absorb a lot of punishment, then when they were getting low on health, get it all back and absorb some more.

I'd rate it a 4

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
Perfectly clear.

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
Not much dialogue needed, and I liked what there was. Haldric wishing his father was there is an excellent touch.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
Surviving the second night of contact, when their primary forces showed up, without taking too much damage to negate my counter strike at day. A combo of almost leveled HI and some Footpads finally got the job done after a try or two.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)
10- Very fun. Fighting down a narrow pass might seem like it would be boring, but it's not. Especially with some wolf riders flanking you to the north.

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
I can't think of any.
The Fires of Pride 0.3, a heavily story based campaign.
On hold while I try and finish my book
