It sounds like you downloaded the source code.

To get it working, you would need to compile it... which is possible but not simple.

The other way is to wait for someone else to compile it and upload their exe to the homepage.

The project only releases the source code and volunteers from the BFW community build it for everyone. Yogi is the person who did the last couple of builds for Windows. I'm sure he's working on getting it packaged nicely.
Hope springs eternal.

You need either 1.1.1 or 1.0.2 both are using differnt servers. The only server NOT running anymore is the official server for 1.1.

Just go like you did when you wanted to reach the multiplayer zone

"server requires version 1.1.1, while you have 1.1

1. Install your downloaded version 1.0.2 of Wesnoth.
2. Start your now installed version 1.0.2 of Wesnoth.
3. Click on 'multiplayer' in the main menu.
4. Select 'join official server'.

It really shouldn't be that hard.

It should be as simple as extracting the data into a new folder. You will need winzip to do so.

arno: Please read this. Also, not listed there is the etiquette not to spam in someone's thread - especially a thread where someone is asking for help with something.

I deleted the spam. Arno, keep this up and you will earn yourself a vacation.

Kelf, make sure you are downloading the binary. The one labeled "wesnoth-windows-1.0.2.exe". This really isn't very difficult if you just read what the download page says.
