multiple players on one computer connecting to server?
hi there,
how can i connect from one computer with multiple players to a server?
we tried to play 2 on 2 with 2 computers. (2 on each computer).
i tried multiplayer and hotseat, but we where not able to connect with two players to the server. it always just accepted one network player from one computer.

errrrmmmmm.....
i think we have a need for a hotseat-extension! i want my hotseat (two players here) connect to another server.
if i host the game, how do i connect to the official server with it?tomsik wrote:1.
You both can play, but you must host game, when you waiting for other players change one 'network player' to 'local player.
run it two times? that’s the way to play on a server with two players using one computer?tomsik wrote:2.
On one comp you do same as in 1. and on the second you must run Wesnoth two times and log in to lobby as two diffrient players.

i am sitting here having one computer. we are two people. now we would like to connect to the official server.
how can we do that?
2. You ask game creator to put AI in one slot and let your nick control 2 sides.
3. You host hame with local player as one of players
Make game on one computer - 2 local players, allow 2nd computer join as 3rd player and 4th set as AI. At begining allow player 3 to control side 4 too.Xytan wrote:

And make sure the person who sets up the game goes before the AI.Dragonking wrote:

how do i do that? i mean ’allow player 3 to control side 4 too’?Dragonking wrote:Make game on one computer - 2 local players, allow 2nd computer join as 3rd player and 4th set as AI. At begining allow player 3 to control side 4 too.
i can’t find something in the menues that looks like i could switch players.
http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/CommandMode looks promising.
but what is ’side’?
or ’player’ vs. ’username’?
username is clear, is player the number from 1-n? only real people count?
and what is side? every slot/color is a side?
so 3 players and 1 ai (p-p-a-p) have players 1-3 and sides 1-4?

droid and control statements
people, it does not work. at least i have no idea what i am doing wrong.
setup:
1 local player A (game owner)
2 remote player B
3 local player C
4 computer D
if i do a 'droid 4' the local machine gets the control for 4/D.
i then tried to give control to B: 'control 4 2'. but the local machine is still the owner of 4. if i try to give away the control while it is 4's move nobody is able to finish the round, because there seem to be no owner anymore.
so could someone please give me a step-by-step description of how i really do it?
i use wesnoth 1.0.

You don't need to droid 4 cause there is already computer player.
control <side> <username> - this is command neded to give control of _side_ (number from 1 to 9) to certain _player_ (name of player - _not_ side cause you can let observers take control too).
Player is person who sits and play computer game. Usernamie is nick of this peron in game.
In your canse you have to do:
1. local player (owner)
2. network player
3.local player
4. AI
and write
control 4 <name_of_friend>

so in http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/CommandMode it should read username instead of player? like it does in :kick and :ban?
thank you for the clarification.
(i did the droid 4 because i though i need to switch the droid off.)
