Wesnoth pc crash

Post by erethir »

Hi! Been playing online with a friend, but after about an hour more or less my pc crash. It has crashed with an automatic restart about 5 times and it doesn't happen on other games.
I have tried using non-steam Wesnoth, compatibility mode (tried using windows 7 and administrator mode) but none of it fixed the crash.
My friend is not effected, so it seems to be something on my side from what I understand.

I now continue using the steam version and Windows 10.
Playing latest version on steam 1.14.5
Using windows 10
The crash feels random. I cant think off any specific action me or my friend did to initiate the crash.

The Battle for Wesnoth version 1.14.5 (48bd45d-Modified)
Running on Microsoft Windows 10 (10.0.17134)

Can you post the log file as well from a time when a crash happened?

take one down, patch it around

Are you running an AMD chipset? There's some discussion about this problem. You might do some research but it looks to me like the BIOS has an option ("currently unavailable"?) called "fast restart" or something like that. The consensus seems to be that disabling this BIOS feature, shutting down, powering off, and restarting normally from a power-up will get you fixed up. YMMV. I run Intel chips everywhere so I can't test it.
I forked real life and now I'm getting merge conflicts.
